Guided trip
Explore the mystic Everest region far from your mundane life in our Everest Base Camp Trek which is full of rigorous trekking trails to the almighty Mt. Everest. Our Everest Base Camp Trek is significantly listed as one of the most legendary and famous treks in Nepal, which lets you set foot on the trail once walked on by the renowned mountaineer pair of Sir Edmund Hillary & Tenzing Norgay. One of the major highlights of this trek is that it gives trekkers the opportunity to admire the first rays of sunrise over mighty Everest from the summit of Kala Patthar along with other high peaks like Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Ama Dablam. Compared to other treks, Everest Base Camp Trek lets you walk into the colorful rhododendron forests and past the pouring rivers, and through the suspension bridges with Buddhist prayer flags to taste the hearty Nepalese cuisine. Primarily done between April to mid-June and September to November, this trek requires trekkers to have the above-average physical fitness to walk for 4-6 hrs a day. Be a part of our EBC Trek program & enjoy the breathtaking view of Mt. Everest. My name is Parashu Ram Nepal, and I’m a licensed English-speaking tour and trekking guide based in Kathmandu! We land at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. At Lukla, you meet the porters, and you start your trek after arranging the baggage. The trekking trail begins through the village of Luka and follows the bank of the Dudhkoshi River until we reach Phakding. Today it’s a short and easy trek to help with altitude acclimatization. Upon reaching Phakding, you may explore the village and the nearby monastery. Overnight in a teahouse at Phakding.

Namche Bazar

Day 2-3
Today's trek is through the beautiful pine forest along the bank of the Dudh Koshi River. On our way, we cross several suspension bridges, one of which is Hillary Suspension Bridge, and admire wonderful views of Mt. Thamserku. We pass through the settlement of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo, and the village of Jorsale and finally reach Namche Bazaar, the popular tourist hub of the Everest region. We catch the first glimpse of the mighty Everest in Namche. Overnight in a teahouse at Namche.

Namche Bazar

Day 3-4
Two nights stay is scheduled in Namche Bazar for acclimatization. As we spend our first acclimatization day at Namche Bazar, we are supposed to be active and take an acclimatization hike to a higher altitude to prepare ourselves for a higher altitude trek the next day. We explore the vibrant Namche Bazar, and hike to Everest View Hotel, from where we can see nice views of Mt. Everest and its neighboring mountains on a clear day. If you like, you may also hike to Khumjung Monastery, where you can see yeti scalps. You hike down back to Namche Bazar and stay in the teahouse.
4

Tyangboche

Day 4-5
The trek is comparatively easy until Phunki Tenga. We walk through beautiful rhododendron forest on gradual as well as several steep trails to Tengboche. Tengboche is home to the most famous and largest monastery in the Everest region. Located within UNESCO’s world heritage site Sagarmatha National Park, the monastery is surrounded by panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The monastery opens at 3:00 pm, and you can witness the ceremony there and speak with the monks residing in the monastery if you have a keen enthusiasm for Buddhism.
5

Dingboche

Day 5-6
The trekking kicks off after breakfast and we pass through forests adorned with beautiful rhododendron trees. We can enjoy amazing views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Next, we walk downhill to Debuche and cross the Imja River to reach Pangboche. We slowly witness the forests being thinner and transitioning into shrubs and bushes due to increasing altitude. We choose the upper Pangboche trail for better views and Pangboche Monastery. Our trek further takes us to Imja valley and Lobuche River before we reach Dingboche. After descending into the river, we have to ascend the last and steepest climb of the day to finally reach Dingboche. Dingboche is a picturesque village with a beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect crops from winds and animals.
6

Dingboche

Day 6-7
This is the second acclimatization day of the trek and also the last chance of getting much rest before the last difficult trail of the adventure. We take an acclimatization hike to Nangkartshang peak (also known as Nagarjun peak) from where you see very nice views of Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). You also can see the Pheriche valley from the top of Nangkartshang peak.

Lobuche

Day 7-8
Continuing our trek from Dingboche, we walk across a wide pass, and we are accompanied by the Himalayas on all sides. As we move forward, the valley begins to narrow, and we reach yak herders place called Dusa. We pass the campsite of the first successful Everest Expedition in 1953 called Phulung Karpo. As we continue our trek, we admire the view of Mt. Pumori. Further, we descend and bid goodbye to Mt. Pumori as it disappears from view. We cross a small bridge and ascend to Dughla from where we can enjoy the magnificent views of peaks like Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Thamserku, and several others. Continuing our trek from Duglha, we climb up the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. We ascend Chupki Lhara and at the top of the ridge, we find prayer flags and stones dedicated to the climbers who lost their lives on Everest. Next, we follow the trail to the Khumbu Glacier and find ourselves facing several peaks including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal. We cross Khumbu Glacier to reach Lobuche where we stay overnight.
8

Gorak Shep

Day 8-9
It is a special day for us as we reach our main destination i.e. Everest Base Camp this day. After early breakfast, the trekking to EBC kicks off with a trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep. The trail to Gorakshep is through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu glacier and lets us enjoy the beauty of the Himalayas. After a small ascent, we reach Thangma Riju form, where we can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of snowcapped peaks. We climb up the steep slope and as we reach the top, we can catch the first glimpse of the famous Kala Patthar. Continuing our walk, we reach Gorak Shep where we find ourselves surrounded by snow capped mountains including mighty Everest. From there, we walk a trail to EBC, ascending and descending mostly on a glacier path as well as meandering on rough terrain. Upon reaching EBC, your respect and admiration for Everest climbers grow even more than before. On reaching the base camp, you are rewarded with incredible melt patterns and rounded ice towers. From the base camp, the summit of Everest is not seen due to the structure of the mountain. However, you can enjoy awe-inspiring views of mountains including Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori. After having a great time in EBC, we return back to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.
9

Pheriche

Day 9-10
The highlight of trekking of this day is Kala Patthar, the top of which is considered the best viewpoint for an amazing close-up view of Everest. We continue our hike early morning to catch the mesmerizing sunrise on Everest from Kala Patthar. As we hike up to Kala Patthar, we can take several short breaks at viewpoints to capture beautiful pictures. The view from the summit is simply breathtaking. From the summit, we can catch the closest possible view of Everest without requiring technical climbing skills. Other mountains that we can view include Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Changtse, and Lhotse. After having a great time on the top of Kala Patthar, we trek back to Pheriche via Gorakshep. Overnight in Pheriche

We have to trek back to reach Namche Bazaar on this day. Walking on a trail with a lot of ups and downs, we lose about 2,000 ft in elevation to reach Namche. As we descend through the pine forest, we can easily spot mountain goats, pheasants, and other wildlife in that area.
