Hi, I am Jacques 👋 I was born in the Deep South of Martinique🌞 a small island located in the Lesser Antilles🏝️The place where I grew up as a child is vibrant with atmosphere and magic. It is so magic that it prompted me to be a novelist. I have a passion for describing atmospheres and sharing emotions 💓 LOVE is the essence .. My first translated novel is entitled "An Endless Quest for Love"💞 I am a tour guide. I like to meet people, expand my horizons🏜️and uncover places .. Details about the accommodation: Located in a hotel residence with direct access to the beach, the apartments feature a kitchenette and a bathroom, and are designed to accommodate 3 persons ; they are air-conditioned, equipped with a TV set, and the household linen (towels...) is changed on request. Bedding can be adapted to your needs: please specify whether you would like 3 single beds or 1 double bed + 1 single bed. Day 1-2

SAINTE-LUCE AT NIGHTTIME : A WELCOME DRINK AT THE BEGINNING OF OUR JOURNEY Our first meeting together as TripMates will be an opportunity to get to know each other and have a nice chat, be briefed and documented about the journey, the itinerary and the immersive plan... It will also be our first encounter as a group with the place where we will be staying : Sainte-Luce is a very lively town at nighttime, particularly on the weekends and holidays

Day 2-3

RIVIERE-PILOTE, A REBEL IN THE SOUTH Riviere-Pilote once was a stronghold of the Amerindian people and has always been a rebellious town. In ancient days a fierce revolt ravaged the South of the island, and Rivière-Pilote ignited it... We will also marvel at some peculiar landmarks such as "Rocher Zombi"🚶‍♂️ Riviere-Pilote is home to a famous rum brand🍾We will take a train and visit the distillery🚂We will enjoy lunch at the distillery and taste the rum 🍴 Anse Figuier Beach is much appreciated by visitors and locals alike. We will enjoy the white-sanded beach🏊‍♂️then stop at the picturesque fishing village on the other side of the hill🏘️

Day 3-4

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGE The Diamond Peninsula offers wonderful insights into amazing Caribbean landscapes : fishing villages nesting in cozy coves🌅appealing white-sanded beaches🏖️and the warm Caribbean breeze through the coastal forest It is also a place that has given birth to an Empress, where plots and fierce battles occurred, and where tales of ship wreckages and spirited salvages are told. We will drive through the 2nd most beautiful village in France, take a breath of fresh air in the coastal forest🌴visit monuments on the coastline, and learn about a stronghold of the English🇬🇧 in a French territory...

Day 4-5

THE LARGEST "BAYOU" ON THE ISLAND We will visit a former monks' dwelling, now a village where potters' workshops, craft stores, and tropical shops flourish🪇not to mention a few local restaurants... On board a boat 🚤we will uncover the landscapes from the sea, then go deep into the heart of the "tropical bayou", where the land and the sea entangle... This a golden opportunity to discover the fauna🦩and flora of this amazing habitat🌾

Day 5-6

INLAND MARTINIQUE After the Caribbean Sea let's go to the river! We will uncover more lush and greener vegetation in the agricultural heart of the island, where banana plantations grow🌱 We will meet a plantation owner, and feast by the riverside on🥗 the farm's products In the afternoon we will follow the ford route and visit an old sugar plantation, located in a garden labeled "Remarkable Garden"🚶

SUNSET ON THE BAY🍹 No journey in Martinique would be complete without a visit and some shopping 🛍️ in Fort-de-France, the capital town🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️Founded in 1635, conquered by the English, definitely settled by the French, it is a contrasted town fostering historical monuments 🏰 a shopping area 🏬 and two cruise terminals 🛳️ The waterfront and La Française Beach are friendly places where people meet and have fun🎠 We will enjoy the sunset on Fort-de-France Bay🍸

Day 7-8

A DORMANT VOLCANO🌋 We will drive through the Tropical Forest🌲to the town of Morne Rouge, unveiling some of the natural wonders of this area, which is enlisted as a UNESCO Heritage Site🪻🍃 We will drive up the mountain for a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. Mount Pelée is a dormant volcano, still active, with a pool of scientists👩‍🔬to survey its activity We will visit the town of St Pierre🚶‍♀️the former world capital of rum, which was destroyed by the last eruption of the volcano We will drive past the fishing villages along the Caribbean Coast🐬
