Metropolitan City of Bologna

Day 1
The meeting point in Bologna will be determined based on individual flight details and arrival times, and confirmed once all participants have shared their travel information. Walking Tour Through Bologna's Historic Heart We begin our day with a walking tour through the old town of Bologna, discovering its rich history, iconic landmarks, and vibrant atmosphere. First stop: Piazza Maggiore, the city’s main square, surrounded by stunning medieval architecture. Right next to it, we admire the Fountain of Neptune, a bold and dramatic symbol of Renaissance power. We then pass by Palazzo d’Accursio, once the seat of the city’s government, and step into the majestic Basilica of San Petronio – one of the largest churches in the world, filled with stories and centuries-old art. Next, we stop at the Asinelli Towers – though we won't climb to the top today, seeing them from below is more than enough to feel their imposing presence. They’ve stood for centuries, leaning slightly, watching over the city. Finally, we wander into the Quadrilatero, Bologna’s medieval market district. Narrow streets, colorful stalls, cured meats, cheeses, fresh pasta, and street food – it’s the perfect place to grab a small bite and soak in the local life. A bus or train ride to Rimini.

Province of Rimini

Day 1-2
After exploring the highlights of Bologna, we will arrive in Rimini in the evening, where we’ll check into our hotel for the night. This evening is reserved for relaxation after a full day. Whether you choose to unwind at the hotel, take a quiet walk, or enjoy a light dinner nearby, it’s the perfect moment to recharge before the days ahead.

Province of Rimini

Day 2-3
We start our day by the Adriatic Sea, enjoying a peaceful walk along the beach, collecting seashells, and breathing in the fresh sea breeze along the promenade. Depending on our hotel location, we either walk or take a short ride to Porta Galliana, where the historical exploration begins. Afternoon: A Journey Through Time in the Heart of Rimini From Porta Galliana, we continue on foot to the iconic Tiberius Bridge (Ponte di Tiberio), standing strong for over 2,000 years. We pass by Castel Sismondo, once the stronghold of the powerful Malatesta family. Next, we reach the Piazza dei Sogni, dedicated to Federico Fellini, Rimini’s legendary filmmaker. Right nearby, we see the restored cinema designed in a surreal baroque style, the interior was crafted by a set designer who collaborated with both Fellini and Scorsese. Continuing through Rimini’s historic center, we stop for an exterior look at the Domus del Chirurgo, the “Surgeon’s House” – a Roman archaeological site full of ancient medical tools and mystery. We then talk about Pope Paul V and Rimini’s past under the Papal States (Stato Pontificio) – a time when popes ruled cities like kings. At Piazza Tre Martiri, we stand where Julius Caesar is believed to stood – a pivotal moment in Roman history. We also explore the legacy of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the man who helped unify Italy. Of course, no Italian city tour is complete without indulging in street food—gelato in a brioche bun, local pizza, and more delicious bites along the way. We wrap up our Rimini journey at the grand Arch of Augustus (Arco d'Augusto).
4

Province of Ravenna

Day 3
Our day begins with a train ride from Rimini to Ravenna—just over an hour of travel through the serene landscapes of Emilia-Romagna. It is a quiet journey that leads us to a city where time seems to stand still. Ravenna may seem calm and reserved, but beneath its surface lies a world of unmatched historical and artistic significance. Our first stop is the breathtaking Basilica of San Vitale, home to some of the world’s most famous Byzantine mosaics – glittering gold, deep blues, and powerful imperial imagery. We'll see the Tomb of Dante Alighieri, the exiled father of the Italian language. Our walk continues to Piazza del Popolo, Ravenna’s elegant central square, lined with cafés and arcades. Afterwards, we'll explore Ravenna's aristocratic center and have lunch. Return to Rimini by train.

Province of Rimini

Day 3-4
After returning from Ravenna, we’ll spend a peaceful night in Rimini. Those who wish to spend more time in Ravenna will have that option available. This evening is free for rest, a quiet dinner, or a relaxed walk—whatever helps you unwind after a day full of history and beauty.
6

San Marino

Day 4
San Marino – The Oldest Republic with the Best Views! A day exploring and taking photos, having lunch, and enjoying the serenity of one of the smallest yet oldest republics in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, we return to Rimini.
7

Province of Rimini

Day 4-5
We will spend our final night in Rimini, with all options open—an evening walk along the beach, a stroll through the old town, a group dinner, or any activity we choose together. It’s our last chance to enjoy the atmosphere, reflect on the journey, and make a few more memories before heading home.

Metropolitan City of Bologna

Day 5
The Farewell Day – Homeward Bound And just like that, the journey comes to an end. With hearts full of memories and cameras full of moments, we say goodbye to the winding streets, the sea breeze, the towers and mosaics, the laughter, and the lingering taste of gelato and pasta. For those having flight back home from Bologna, they'll go in that direction. Others may depart from Ancona, but all of us carry something unforgettable back home – the warmth of new friendships, the stories of ancient cities, and the quiet magic of days well spent. Until the next adventure…
