Trip Itinerary

Reykjavík
Day 1-2
Arrive in Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland. Spend the day exploring the city, visiting landmarks like Hallgrimskirkja Church, Harpa Concert Hall, and the vibrant downtown area. In the evening, we go on a Northern Lights tour from Reykjavik to increase our chances of spotting the auroras.

Gullfoss Falls
Day 2-3
Take a day trip to the Golden Circle, a popular tourist route in southwestern Iceland. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Thingvellir National Park, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet. See the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall and the geothermal area of Geysir, where we can witness the Strokkur geyser erupt.

Seljalandsfoss
Day 3-4
Drive along the stunning South Coast of Iceland. Stop at Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, and walk behind Seljalandsfoss for a unique perspective. Visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara near the village of Vik, known for its dramatic basalt columns and sea stacks.

Vatnajokull
Day 4-5
Head east towards Vatnajokull National Park, home to Europe's largest glacier. Explore the park and take a guided glacier hike or ice cave tour (subject to availability and seasonal conditions). Stay overnight in the area to increase our chances of seeing the Northern Lights in the dark skies.

Jökulsárlón
Day 5-6
Visit the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, where large icebergs float in a picturesque setting. Take a boat tour to get up close to the icebergs and possibly spot seals swimming in the lagoon. Nearby, visit the Diamond Beach, where icebergs wash ashore on a black sand beach.

Fosshotel Eastfjords
Day 6-7
Drive through the scenic East Fjords, characterized by towering mountains and charming coastal villages. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and stop at viewpoints along the way for stunning vistas. Spend the night in one of the towns along the East Fjords.

Mývatn
Day 7-8
Journey to Lake Myvatn, a geothermal wonderland in northern Iceland. Explore the unique landscapes, including pseudocraters, lava fields, and the mystical Dimmuborgir lava formations. Visit the geothermal area of Namaskard, known for its bubbling mud pots and steaming fumaroles.

Akureyri
Day 8-9
Travel to Akureyri, the vibrant capital of North Iceland. Take a stroll through the charming town, visit the Botanical Gardens, or soak in the geothermal pools of the nearby Myvatn Nature Baths. Enjoy!

Kirkjufell
Day 9-10
Drive west towards the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Explore the dramatic landscapes of this region, including the iconic Kirkjufell Mountain and the scenic coastal cliffs of Arnarstapi. Visit the picturesque village of Stykkisholmur and sample fresh seafood.

Reykjavík
Day 10-11
Return to Reykjavík for our final day in Iceland! Spend the day exploring any sights we missed at the beginning of our trip, or indulge in some shopping for Icelandic souvenirs. In the evening, join another Northern Lights tour or venture out to a nearby dark spot to catch the auroras one last time.
