Hi, all nature, mountain, and beach lovers 💕 I am organizing a 5-day trip to West Crete with a visit to the most gripping local places. The natural diversity of Crete is indescribable - it is a mixture of mountains, beaches, rocks, and wilderness. Together we will visit the Samaria Gorge, which is the longest gorge in Europe; Elafonissi Beach with pink sand and the largest freshwater lake in Crete, Kournas. Crete is an ideal place for those who want to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of big cities and be in touch with nature. In terms of our accommodation, we will stay in wonderful apartments (2 people in one apartment with single beds, kitchen, and private bathroom). We will stay here all 5 days and visit all the places from here. Chania

Day 1-2

The first day will be the day of our arrival. Depending on your time of arrival, we can check in and wait for others. I assume everyone could be there around the evening. We can then pop into the city center.

Elafonissi Beach

Day 2-3

In the morning, we will take a bus to Elafonissi Beach, which is also a lagoon. It stands out for its pink sand and many secluded beaches. Here we will spend most of the day exploring this magical place. We can swim in the sea or sunbathe. I'm open to any ideas 😇 After returning to Chania, we can go to a local restaurant to try local dishes.

Samaria Gorge

Day 3-4

This day, we will explore the Samaria Gorge, where a 16-kilometer hike awaits us through the whole gorge 😮 It's a national park that is among the most beautiful natural attractions of Crete (and Greece). But don't worry, the entrance to the gorge is at an altitude of 1,200 meters and the gorge ends on the beach (in the village of Agia Roumeli), so we will walk downhill. From Agia Roumeli we will go back to Chania by ferry and bus.

Paralia Kourna

Day 4

This day will consist of several interesting stops. The first will be the village of Kavros, which is a classic Cretan village transformed into a tourist destination. From there we will go to Lake Kournas.

Lake Kournas

Day 4-5

Lake Kournas - the largest freshwater lake in Crete with many shades of blue colour. Whoever wants can take a bath in the lake (I hope the water will not be that cold 😊). In the afternoon we will return to our accommodation in Chania.

Chania

Day 5

We will check out from the accommodation around 10am. Depending on your time of departure, we can spend the last moments in Chania, shopping souvenirs, having a lunch or walking along old city centre.
