Welcome to Singapore! This journey is to discover the wonderful dishes enjoyed by locals in this melting pot of Asia. Over 1 full day and night, we introduce & discover the local adaptations of the cuisine of Malays, Indians and the Chinese, the 3 main races, in this heart of South-East Asia. This is a strictly non-halal trip. I shall bring Trip Members to eating places where meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) prices start at EUR3.50 (SGD5.00). A full meal of several courses would cost about EUR25.00 (SGD35.00). Alcoholic beverages tend to be expensive compared to Europe/USA or Australia, with a glass of house pouring wine starting from EUR8.00 (SGD12.00). Happy Hour promotional drinks may be a better bet. Alcoholic beverages are not included in the pricing of this tour. Selected sightseeing spots will be included as part of this trip. These do not require an entrance fee. **NEW** discover the "hidden" districts of Singapore and what it has to offer.

About me! I have been an avid traveler, all my life. As a senior, I pay my dues by paying back to the current generation of world travelers/digital nomads, who are keen to discover the REAL residents in the countries they visit. My work career was varied, providing insights that only experience is able to gain over the years. Join me to discover my twin countries of Malaysia and Singapore. And, our South-East Asian neighbours.

No accommodation is provided. This will be a one day tour of selected local food spots in Singapore. Trip members would have their own accommodations for their stay in Singapore. A tour gathering point will be designated, in due course. It will be a public place in the city center that will be easily accessible. Do you have questions about the trip? Trip Itinerary
1

McDonald's Raffles City

Day 1
All Trip Members will gather and meet at the entrance of McDonald's Raffles City, Singapore by 8:00am. This location faces the main entrance to Raffles City from the City Hall MRT Station. We shall proceed to "Little India", via a short ride on the MRT for our first meal of the day. Spicy Indian cuisine is a favourite breakfast meal for many Singaporean residents. An array of choices may be had, including non-Indian/non-spicy foods. Well energised, we will explore this landmark complex filled with various kinds of shops, a "wet" market and nearby shops filled with the aromas of various spices of the East.
2

Hong Lim Market & Food Centre

Day 1
The next destination will be "ChinaTown". We have a choice of a cool ride in the MRT or a slower ride on an air-conditioned public bus. The second choice will offer views of the City on top of a double-decked vehicle. Now, we will explore the cuisines of the various Chinese dialect groups in Hong Lim Food Center and Market. We shall share and enjoy various snacking dishes. A full lunch awaits us at one of the oldest Chinese eating institutions in Singapore.
3

Jurong East

Day 1
After our hefty lunch, we shall proceed into the heartlands of Singapore. Jurong East is a comfortable mix of locals and expatraite communities living together. Of course, their various cuisines follow along together with their favourite branded shops. We shall witness a resort-styled Public Hospital, here.
4

Island Penang Kitchen

Day 1
Early evening, we shall continue to a neighbouring district for an early dinner, inspired by the favourite cuisine of Penang, North Malaya. There are many Malaysians, who have migrated and settled in Singapore, over the years. This restaurant offers flavours of the "old" country and a degree of nostalgia.
5

Clarke Quay

Day 1
Quickly, we shall proceed to one of the hottest night spots in Singapore. This stretches from Clarke Quay, along the Singapore River. Heading towards the estuary is Boat Quay, another hot stop to consider. This is where this tour ends. The choice is left to Trip Members. To party the night away with many choices, or return to your rooms for a rest!
