This is a "well-rounded" high-impact high-value trip in that you see and experience most of Zululand, with not a lot of wasted time on the road with subsequent wasted Euros. About the trip: - On DAY ONE, I Darryl de Lange, your host, and guide for the next five days, meet you at King Shaka Int. airport Durban around 9 am. A lite lunch and "Meet n Greet" drinks in Ballito before we head for St Lucia, our destination for the next two nights. Arrive in St Lucia, unpack into Lodge, and head for an evening sundowners cruise on the St Lucia estuary, part of the greater iSimangolisa world heritage site. - On DAY TWO, early lite breakfast and head for uMfolozi Game Reserve. A wilderness area with abundant African game all in real wild habitat as it is a National Park. Here we will prepare a sumptuous brunch after some game viewing. After brunch, more game driving with a well-versed guide, me. Then we head back to St Lucia for an evening sundowners on the beach and a Portuguese barbeque that evening. - On DAY THREE, we pack after breakfast and head down the beach on electric "fat bikes" to our snorkeling destination, Mapelane. Cycling along this untouched section of the coastline in itself is an adventure. Lunch is a picnic style with an e-cycle back to St Lucia. If everyone is up to it, a night on the town:) - On DAY FOUR after breakfast, (depending on last night), a game viewing trip up the "eastern shores". This promises different wildlife along the coastal shoreline compared to Umfolozi inland. We come home to lunch in St Lucia where everyone can relax and enjoy the beach or pool. -On DAY FIVE, we leave St Lucia after an early light breakfast and head for umThunzini. Here we will ride bikes through the coastal forest and enjoy the beach town, Then some craft rum tasting in the area known for its sugar cane. Just an hour's drive after this and we are in Salt Rock. -On DAY SIX, is for those that want to see the coastline from a microlight. After which a large brunch to prepare you for an afternoon "learn to surf" with a proper surfing instructor (not me this time) with all equipment included. A fun out on the town last night is then a must. -On DAY SEVEN we hit the beach, surf, swim or snorkel and enjoy fine seafood and wine in the sun. -On DAY EIGHT: sleep-in, breakfast, last-minute shopping, and a very sad drop-off at the airport.
