Coworking trip
Hello everyone! ✔️ A little bit about me: My name is Jon. If you enjoy a good conversation, appreciate fine art and culture, delight in Nature, savor good food and wine, and love getting to know interesting people, we are on the same tribe. I am a Spaniard with a history of adventuring and exploring. Mostly I have discovered new places by living and working for an extended period in my destination. This trip is for you if you enjoy nature, peace and quiet, interesting places that may not be featured in mainstream touristic routes, good conversation, a lot of flexibility to organize your day, and great people :) ✔️ What to expect from this trip? This is a CoWorking Vacation in which we will get some remote work done while enjoying the peace and quiet of rural Spain. These are places that are rarely visited by foreign tourists, but remain a favorite destination for nationals who are in the know. The plan is to have our weekdays to get our work done. No schedule required and plenty of flexibility, but there will be after-work plans. 🏠 Accommodation: We will stay in shared accommodation. I am currently looking to provide each traveler with a single room, and plenty of space to work. I am also securing a solid, fast internet connection. Working on all the specifics at the moment. Since it is an area which caters to local tourists, there are plenty of infrastructure and offerings! 💰 What's included in the price? - Accommodation - Gas for the car - Buffer of 10% ✔️ About our destination: When you drive West from Madrid towards Extremadura, you enter the gorgeous valleys of the Gredos mountain system. An abundance of water and forestry creates a microclimate filled with green and robust landscapes with awe-inspiring sights. As well as small, historical towns with plenty of charm, cultural events, historic value, and many opportunities to enjoy good food in this calm, easy-going area of Spain. ✔️ What are the plans for our free time? After closing our laptops, we will visit some of the most charming plazas, enjoy good wine and tapas ("raciones" is better than tapas, for the initiated). We can soak in the hospitality of the locals, walk around breathtaking narrow historical streets and listen to the local concerts. OR We can take it easy at home and cook our own food while enjoying some music and enriching conversation. It's an open plan and the goal is to have a fun and easy CoWorking & CoLiving vacation week enjoying the natural atmosphere and all the local culture that these valleys have to offer. ✔️ More details about the destination: A quick search for "Valle del Tietar" and "La Vera" will reveal some treasures: the magical Cuevas Del Valle, a system of otherworldly, underground caves. There are Celtic ruins, waterfalls, castles, museums and many unforgettable magical spots. Being surrounded by mountains and abundant natural landscapes, we will plan something memorable for the weekend. A good hike up the mountains is always a favorite around the place, but we can also take a full day out in one of the many interesting towns and do a bit of cultural and historical explorations. It's up to us! There is plenty to do and we can narrow it down as the time approaches. We will work together on daily things such as preparing food (any good cooks out there?), keeping the house clean and shopping for groceries. I will have my car with me, so we can move around easily. No need for a second driver, but it is always a nice thing if we have one. :) Let's discover rural Spain together!

Trip Itinerary
1

Valle del Tietar

Day 1-3
We will start our trip by settling in our shared accommodation, setting our work spaces, and getting to know each other during the weekend. We will walk around town, sit down at one of the local restaurants to explore the food, and we can take a foray into nature on Sunday. A good weekend of getting acquained with the area and all it has to offer, before starting our work week!

Valle del Tietar

Day 3-8
Little did I know that we had paradise just 1,5 hours away from Madrid (and now I live there). A place to rest, reconnect, work, soak in Nature and History. Good people, good food and abundant beauty. Let's live it while we work there! It's up to us, really. The area features natural caves, spectacular hikes, museums, celtic ruins, castles, rivers with waterfalls and the towns themselves are gorgeous. We will be working during the week, but depending on our availability we can make plans together, or each one of us can take their own time to explore the area. The great thing about this corner of Spain is that it offers many things to do and enjoy, so I will have a good list of different options so we can choose depending on our after-work availability and what we feel like experiencing. As a first introduction, please check the pictures of this stop so you get a feel. I personally enjoy the simple pleasures that small towns have to offer: family restaurants, public plazas, small but interesting museums... When there is more time available and the sun is shining, then it is Nature: hikes, rivers, waterfalls, forests and spectacular views. Now, this will be winter, and there are few things I enjoy more than good conversations around the fireplace. To hear real people's stories and get to know people at a deep level is better than Netflix in my book, and that is one of my favorite ideas for this work week.

Valle del Tietar

Day 8-9
Once the work week is done, it is time to enjoy the weekend. We are very well situated. We have the mountain system of Gredos next door to us. We have the Valle Del Tietar, as well as La Vera. Now that we have time, we can jump in the car and go up the mountains if the weather allows. There are some spectacular views (check the pics!) Gredos is a mountain system famous for its beauty and its hikes, as well as its good food and historical towns. I am up for hiking the mountain and contemplating the scenery, or if the group is so inclined, I would enthusiastically jump at the opportunity to do some canyoning. If you are interested, please let me know and we'll plan it! Another good option is to choose a more cultural and historic weekend activity. The towns around Valle Del Tietar are charming, embedded in Nature, and they grow out of ancient celtic and iberic settlements that are available to visit. There is a monastery called "Monasterio de Yuste" which is hands down epic and spectacular. There is time for a bit of everything. I would love to plan activities taking everyone's preferences into account, so everyone leaves delighted to having done their favorite thing, and enriched by the visit to this magical part of Spain
