The route for experienced trekkers. No worries, I will be there to guide you through the whole route. We will have enough time to acclimate ourselves and take in the beautiful views all throughout this route. Be sure to wear/bring comfortable and secure trekking shoes for this route. Salinero Hotel - Kilimanjaro

Day 1-2
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport, we'll be there to greet you and transfer you to Salinero Lodge, where you'll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in comfortable accommodation. The lodge is conveniently located just 30 kilometers away, making the transfer a quick and easy 30-minute journey. Get ready to indulge in a delightful dining experience and rest well for the adventures that lie ahead. Your stay at Salinero Lodge or a similar accommodation will ensure a comfortable and enjoyable start to your trip.

Umbwe Campsite

Day 2-3
Our journey begins at Umbwe Park Gate, where we will register before embarking on our trek. The trail takes us through a beautiful montane forest, following a small winding path alongside the enchanting Umbwe river. As we ascend, we'll be surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature. After approximately 6 hours of hiking, we will reach our first night's camp, Umbwe Cave Camp, situated at an altitude of around 2,900 meters. Here, we'll set up camp and prepare for a well-deserved rest, surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains.

Barranco Camp

Day 3-4
Leaving the scenic Umbwe Camp behind, we continue our trek towards Barranco Camp. As we venture further, we bid farewell to the montane forest, revealing stunning views of the imposing Western Breach wall. Throughout the afternoon, we may witness the ever-changing sight of the Great Barranco as misty clouds gracefully envelop the landscape. After a hike of approximately 4-5 hours and covering a distance of 6 kilometers, we will reach Barranco Camp, our campsite for the night. Nestled amidst the captivating surroundings, we'll set up camp and rest for the evening, ready for the next leg of our adventure.

Karanga Camp

Day 4-5
Our day begins with an exciting and exhilarating climb to the summit of the Great Barranco Wall. After conquering this short yet thrilling scramble, we continue our journey by traversing across scree slopes, leading us to the enchanting Karanga Valley (3930m). Here, we are greeted by the awe-inspiring icefalls of the Heim, Kersten, and Decken Glaciers, creating a magnificent backdrop for our adventure. Karanga Campsite, our resting place for the night, awaits us with its tranquil atmosphere and stunning surroundings. We settle in and prepare for a well-deserved rest, as we continue our epic journey on Mount Kilimanjaro.

Barafu Camp

Day 5
Leaving the peaceful Karanga Campsite behind, we embark on the next leg of our journey, where we meet the junction that connects with the Mweka descent Trail. Our path leads us further up, towards the renowned Barafu Hut, marking a significant milestone on our trek. As we ascend, the Southern Circuit treats us to breathtaking views of the majestic summit from various angles, allowing us to truly appreciate the grandeur of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon reaching the Barafu Camp, we take the opportunity to rest, savor a delicious dinner, and make final preparations for the highly anticipated summit day. From this vantage point, we are privileged to witness the awe-inspiring presence of both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, offering a glimpse of the extraordinary beauty that surrounds us on this remarkable adventure.

Millenium Camp

Day 5-6
Embark on the final and most challenging leg of our trek as we ascend towards the summit. Starting at 23:30, we'll make our way between the Rebman and Ratzel glaciers, heading northwest towards Stella Point on the crater rim. After a rest, we'll continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and in Africa. Descending from the summit, we'll stop at Barafu for lunch before reaching Mweka Camp. Prepare for a memorable sunrise, breathtaking views, and a well-deserved celebration at the summit.

Salinero Hotel - Kilimanjaro

Day 6-7
After breakfast, we bid farewell to Mweka Camp and begin our descent towards the Mweka Park Gate. As we descend to lower elevations, the terrain may become wet and muddy, so we recommend wearing gaiters and using trekking poles for support. You can dress comfortably in shorts and t-shirts, but keep your rain gear and warmer clothing easily accessible. At the park gate, you will receive your well-deserved summit certificates.
