Trip Itinerary
1
Kilimanjaro International Airport
Day 1
Arrival at JRO & Transfer to Moshi Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to Moshi, a vibrant town at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. After check-in at a lively backpacker hostel, you can explore the town at your own pace — check out the local markets, grab a Tanzanian bite, or just relax with views of the mountain. In the evening, you can choose to socialize with fellow travelers or have a chilled drink at a local bar to get into the festive mood.
2
Materuni waterfalls and coffee tour
Day 1-2
Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour & Christmas Nightclub Party Start Christmas Day with a beautiful adventure to Materuni Waterfall, located in a lush village just outside Moshi. You’ll hike through banana plantations and forest paths to reach the stunning falls and take a refreshing swim if you like. Then, enjoy a cultural Chagga coffee-making tour where you’ll roast, grind, and drink freshly brewed local coffee. After returning to Moshi and taking time to relax, the night comes alive with a Christmas party at a local nightclub like Moshi Pub or Black Diamond, filled with music, dancing, and a friendly crowd of locals and travelers.
3
CHEMKA HOT SPRINGS (KIKULETWA HOT SPRINGS)
Day 2-3
Chemka Hot Springs Day Trip & Chill Night After a fun Christmas night, today is for relaxation and recovery. You’ll head out for a short drive to the Chemka Hot Springs, a hidden gem with crystal-clear warm water surrounded by palm trees. You can swim, swing into the water, or just relax in the shade while enjoying a picnic lunch. After this peaceful outdoor experience, return to Moshi for a laid-back evening. You can relax at the hostel or join an optional bar hangout if you're still in the mood to socialize.
4
Moshi
Day 3-4
Moshi Cultural Tour & Local Experiences Today is all about getting to know Moshi like a local. You'll go on a guided town tour exploring bustling markets, sample traditional street food, and interact with local artisans. You’ll learn about Swahili culture, try local fruits, and possibly visit a women's cooperative or local artists' workshop. This is a day of slow travel and cultural connection. The evening is open — you can relax or join others for a low-key bar night or a movie at a local spot.
5
Arusha City Centre
Day 4-5
Transfer to Arusha & City Orientation After breakfast, you’ll leave Moshi and head to Arusha, known as the safari capital of Tanzania. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into your hostel and take a light walking tour of the city — visiting iconic landmarks like the Clock Tower, the Maasai Market, and local coffee shops. It’s a good chance to see a different vibe of Tanzania. Arusha is a bit bigger than Moshi and offers a mix of modern and traditional life. You’ll rest here for the night.
6
Serval Wildlife
Day 5-6
Serval Wildlife Experience Get ready for a unique experience at the Serval Wildlife Sanctuary, located about an hour from Arusha. This eco-resort and conservation center lets you walk among giraffes, zebras, and elands in a natural, safe environment. It’s a great photo opportunity and a chance to learn about conservation efforts in Tanzania. After your visit, you’ll return to Arusha for the afternoon to relax or explore more of the town before turning in for the night.
7
Lake Duluti
Day 6-7
Lake Duluti Nature Walk & Canoeing Today you'll head out for a calm and scenic adventure at Lake Duluti, a crater lake surrounded by lush greenery. You’ll enjoy a guided nature walk around the lake, spotting birds and learning about local flora and fauna. For the more active, optional canoeing on the lake offers a peaceful escape. A picnic lunch by the lake completes this relaxing day. Afterward, return to Arusha for your final night there.
8
Moshi
Day 7-8
Return to Moshi & New Year’s Eve Party This is the grand finale! In the morning, you’ll head back to Moshi to prepare for the big night. Spend the day grabbing souvenirs, enjoying a final lunch in town, and resting up. In the evening, dress casual and get ready for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve party at one of Moshi’s popular nightclubs — Redstone, Black Diamond, or Moshi Pub. Dance, toast, and celebrate the arrival of 2026 with locals and fellow travelers. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime way to ring in the New Year at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.
9
Kilimanjaro International Airport
Day 8-9
Departure from Kilimanjaro International Airport After a late night, enjoy a slow morning. Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred back to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your journey home — full of unforgettable memories from a Christmas and New Year you’ll never forget in Tanzania.
