We'll explore the famed Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe followed by both a land and river safari of the beautiful Chobe National Park in Botswana. Victoria Falls will be on the rise as it's just after rainy season on the tributary rivers in further north countries and is always an amazing experience from the Zimbabwe side. Better yet, it's a fantastic time to experience all of the adrenalin adventures and thrills that are offered by operators in Victoria Falls - white water rafting the Zambezi River, bungee jumping, zip lining, swimming in the scary but amazing Devil's Pool on the lip of Victoria Falls; you name it and the activity is most likely available. As the watering at nearby Chobe National Park will still be low, it's actually the best time to see the wildlife!!! With many watering holes dry, the wildlife concentrates at the few remaining at that time of year, and also alongside the Chobe River, so the viewing is fantastic. I've been so many times and have seen all of the famed animals. Sunset experiences on both the Zambezi River and Chobe River are always beautiful, adding to a lifetime of memories you'll experience on this trip!

About me! Hi! I look forward to meeting you and sharing one of my favorite regions and experiences in the world! I've travelled the world for many years, visiting about 60 countries. I love to explore new countries, but I often find myself drawn back to Africa in particular (okay, and some other special places), and have visited Southern Africa about 25 times since 1998, including most recently in May 2023. I'll share the "ins and outs" of planning your trip, and everything that you will want to know while on the ground in Zimbabwe and Botswana to make it both the easiest and most fun experience for you. I'm laid back and just enjoy being in Africa, and having a good laugh always makes a day better. I like to travel with people who are open minded and open to meeting new people, including the local people with whom we interact. Planning excursions to other destinations in Africa? Most likely I have been to them and happy to always offer advice!

Details about the accommodation: Accommodation is based on single occupancy, but twins can be arranged. Accommodation in Victoria Falls town will be at a famed travelers lodge, and we'll stay in nicely appointed tents. Accommodation adjacent to Chobe will also be at a travelers lodge, and we'll stay in well appointed tents or rooms. Victoria Falls

Day 1-5

A Natural Wonder of the World, and adventure activity hub of Africa! At the Falls, the best viewing for the February season is on the Zimbabwe side where there's always a good river flow - the country of Zambia is on the far other side, but that section of the Falls is mostly dry during the February season. You will also experience the local baboons at the Falls, who are a very gregarious bunch! Take your time, fully explore the length of the walk, sit on some benches and enjoy the day. Park entry is included with the tour fee.

Chobe National Park

Day 5-7

An easy drive from Victoria Falls is the stunning Chobe National Park in Botswana. See the famed African wildlife. The national park is unique in Africa for having both land and river based safaris to experiences, and this trip includes both in the tour fee! The land safari includes a breakfast tea in the wilds, as well as a lunch. The river safari is BYOB, but a shop is conveniently at the boat pier, so stock up.

Victoria Falls

Day 7-8

On the last night we will enjoy a farewell sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. We'll see a variety of wildlife, including the always amazing hippos. Then again it's an open bar on the sunset cruise, so maybe you will just want to sit back and take in the sunset and remember the amazing week that we've all had together. The sunset cruise is also included in the fee.
