Join TripLeader Rob on a 10‑day adventure to Nepal, where you will learn about Nepal's rich cultural heritage with visits to many of Kathmandu Valley's UNESCO World Heritage sites, enjoy a light trekking experience with spectacular views of the Himalayas, as well as several life-affirming volunteer experiences with children with disabilities. Guided sightseeing visits include: - World UNESCO heritage sights, including Swayambhunath Stupa and Boudhanath Stupa, the historic city of Bhaktapur & Pashupatinath Temple. - Patan Durbar (Palace) Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square. - Visit beautiful Pokhara and enjoy boating on the lake, and hikes to Shanti Stupa - Hike and eat breakfast at Australian Camp for early morning mountain views Volunteer Activities: Deaf Women’s Empowerment Group Carnival for children with disabilities Blind/Visually-Impaired students at Sanjiwani School The foundation fights for children in Nepal living with disabilities, along with children disadvantaged by their life situation. Our goal is to bring these children out of the darkness and into the light — to give them the tools to achieve their dreams. Your TripLeader Rob has traveled to Nepal 30 times in 25 years and will provide insights and information about his life journey that has impacted so many children and adults with disabilities. This is the kind of personal trip experience that so many of our past participants find to be the most meaningful trip of their lives. Day 0: DEPART FOR KATHMANDU Depart from various destinations for Kathmandu*, Nepal. Arrive in Kathmandu, and transfer to Kantipur Temple House Hotel. Relax & recover from jet lag and if you have time, explore the city! Accommodation - Kantipur Temple House Hotel.

Day 2-3
Day 1: ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU Get settled into your hotel and enjoy the sights and sounds of Thamel, the main tourist district of Kathmandu. Explore the many marketplaces, shops, and boutiques found in this artisanal enclave of Kathmandu. Cultural gifts and handicrafts and foods await, and we can give you some ‘tips’ on where and how to shop, and, of course, where to eat! Accommodation - Overnight at Kantipur Temple House (B)

Day 3-4
Day 2: SIGHTSEEING IN KATHMANDU Spend the morning sightseeing the shrines and temples of Swayambhunath Stupa & Pashpatinath, with lunch at Dwarika’s Hotel. Enjoy the afternoon/evening free to explore before dinner! OPTIONAL: Participate in an early morning flight by airplane around Mount Everest or a helicopter flight to the mountain! Dhulikhel

Day 4-5
Day 3 – BHAKTAPUR CITY TOUR, KAVRE SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF & OVERNIGHT TO DHULIKHEL Start the day with a morning visit to Historic Bhaktapur City followed by lunch. Then visit project site with Kavre School for the Deaf with Deaf Women’s Empowerment Group, and experience a presentation. Finish the day with an evening walk through scenic Dhulikhel. Accommodation - Overnight at Dhulikhel Mountain Resort

Kathmandu

Day 5
Day 4 : VISIT SANJIWANI SCHOOL, BOUDHANATH STUPA & KATHMANDU DURBAR SQUARE Begin the day with a visit to Sanjiwani School, followed by Kathmandu Durbar Square and Boudhanath Stupa! *Optional Activity: Observe a Dhulikhel Rotaract Club of Kathmandu meeting! Accommodation - Overnight in Kantipur Temple House

Chitawan

Day 5-6
Day 5 : CHITWAN AND JUNGLE VISIT This morning will start with a flight to Chitwan! The afternoon and evening will include activities with the Jungle Program, including a safari and cultural experience! Accommodation - Overnight at Barahi Jungle Lodge

Bandipur

Day 6-7
Day 6: DRIVE AND OVERNIGHT IN SCENIC BANDIPUR Start the day with more jungle activities before the drive to Bandipur, a scenic hill station that is about a 3-hour ride. Once there, you will take a walk around the quaint little historic Nepali village! Accommodation - Overnight in Bandipur Mountain Resort (B,L,D)

Pokhara

Day 7-8
Day 7: ARRIVAL IN POKHARA, AFTERNOON BOATING, AND TIME TO EXPLORE Drive to Pokhara and enjoy dinner on your own or with the group (not included in the package). Accommodation - Overnight in Fishtail Lodge. (B, L)

Day 8-9
Day 8 : MORNING BOATING & DRIVE TO DHAMPUS Enjoy a morning boating experience on the lake, then lunch at Lakeside! After lunch, drive to Dhampus (1.5 hours) Accommodation - Overnight in Dhampus Holiday Home (B, L, D)

Pokhara

Day 9-10
Day 9: HIKE TO AUSTRAILIAN CAMP & ENJOY A FREE AFTERNOON IN POKHARA This morning, weather permitting you will be rewarded by magnificent sunrise over the snow-capped Himalayas from Australian Camp. After finishing your breakfast in the restaurant of your Lodge, we’ll then commence our walk from Dhampus. Enjoy a free afternoon where you can choose to go boating on the lake, have a massage, go paragliding or hang out by the lake with local shopping and restaurants! Accommodation - Overnight at Fishtail Lodge. (B)

Kathmandu

Day 10-11
Day 10 : AM FLIGHT TO KATHMANDU AND CARNIVAL DAY The day will begin with a flight back to Kathmandu followed by airport Pick-up and transfer to SERC (Special Education and Rehabilitation Center) where we’ll be visiting with the children from both organizations, having lunch, making new friends, and having fun with low-tech, carnival-style games. Local Rotarians and Rotaractors will join in to help out, so you can make lots of new friends! Accommodation - Overnight at Grand Hyatt Bouda (B)

Nepal

Day 11
Day 11- FOND FAREWELL TO NEPAL! Your last morning will begin with a breakfast farewell get-together at Hyatt. Then board departure transfer for onward destination and arrive home on the same day (due to the international date line), or on the next day. (B)
