Guided trip
👋 Hello party, wine, wellness, and adventure loving globetrotters! Hungary is not just about Budapest! In September, it's still worth taking a trip and exploring the Hungarian capital and the countryside with a local Hungarian. With me, you will not get into any awkward situations like a lot of foreigners, and there are no language barriers! The weather is more pleasant than in summer, the prices are even lower, and you only need to take 3 days off. 🤩 I've put together a program for you that you won't find anywhere else. Fed up with traditional tourism, where the guide takes you through the obligatory sights of Budapest and you see nothing of the wonders of rural Hungary? Then you've definitely come to the right place! 👋 A little about me I graduated as a lawyer, worked in the public administration, but I didn't felt I'm in the perfect place and realized that travel is my real passion, so why not do it full time. Despite being 44, I'm very youthful and direct, but I have life experience I wouldn't give up for anything. I love partying, talking over a drink, sharing my experiences with others. I've been to 23 countries so far, but I have a feeling that list is only going to grow. I love good wines and wellness, but it's the active adventures that really turns me on: hiking, via ferrata, scuba diving, skiing. 🧐 What to expect from this trip? I'll pick you up at the airport and the adventure begins! - 2 nights in Budapest and 2 in Mád - Parliament visit in Budapest & the Rudas thermal baths 🫧 - Exploring the Budapest night-life/ Watching the Hungarian-German match/ Escape room (depends on what we decide) And then... - Lillafüred - home to the country's largest waterfall & castle hotel visit 🏰 - Largest winery in Central Europe visit & wine tasting 🍷 - Hike in the mountain & adventure park 🧗 🏡 Accommodation: 2 bedroom, well-equipped, spacious apartments with shared rooms. 💰 The price includes: - 24/7 costumer support of JoinMyTrip - secure payment provided by Stripe - Allianz travel insurance for residence in Germany and Austria - the price of the accommodation and tourist tax - the cost of petrol and road tolls, parking fees - entrance fee for Parliament and Rudas thermal bath - the cost of wine tasting - a small TripLeader fee for planning and organizing ❌ Not included in the price: - travelling to the destination of trip - accommodation security deposit - cost of food and drink - cost of via ferrata set rental - adventure park fees See you soon! Budapest

Day 1-2
Arrival Day We'll meet at the Liszt Ferenc Airport, then we go by car to the downtown and visit the Hungarian Parliament Building. The crown jewels, called the Holy Crown has been on display in the central Domed Hall of the building. No king was regarded as having been truly legitimate without being crowned with it and more than fifty kings were crowned with it. The Holy Crown is for the Hungarians what the Lost Ark is for the Jewish people. After we've occupied our apartment we'll decide about plan for the evening. Visiting ruin pubs, walking on the banks of the Danube, locked room game, football match watching in a pub, anything goes. Just relax and go with the flow!

Budapest

Day 2-3
Rudas Bath's waters are considered to have medicinal properties. It was first built in 1550, during the time of Ottoman rule. To date, it retains many of the key elements of a Turkish bath, exemplified by its Turkish dome and octagonal pool. The bath has six therapy pools and one swimming pool where the temperature is in between 10 and 42 °C. The baths were used as a location for the opening scene of the 1988 action movie Red Heat, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. A unique feature of the spa is the roof terrace, which offers a wonderful panoramic view and night swimming. The restaurant offers special culinary delights. There is a cheap option for a ship cruise on the river Danube, we can use public transport ships. Similar experience for a budget price. As for the evening the group will decide about the activity.

Lillafüred

Day 3
We'll drive 2 hours from Budapest to reach Miskolc. Lillafüred was built as a tourist resort in the 1890s by Count Bethlen, who envisioned a place where the wealthy could stay, play, and recuperate by the lake. Nestled into the forested Bükk Mountains and full of outdoor adventure and pretty scenery, the area was named for his niece, Erzsébet, nicknamed Lilla. The famous Palace Hotel was built between 1925 and 1929 in neo-Renaissance style. Here is the country's highest free-falling waterfall, 20 metres high.
4

Szegi

Day 3
After we had lunch we jump into our car to visit The Grand Tokaj winery close to village of Szegi. It is the largest cellar in the Tokaj wine region and in Central and Eastern Europe. 25 years ago, the winery developed the cellar from a quarry that is almost 400 years old. The five-kilometre, two-storey cellar system connects four underground quarries. The vast cellar system is used for ageing and storing wines, and its temperature is ideal for ageing aszú and samorodni in wooden barrels. The cellar has a capacity of several thousand barrels. The best vintages have been stored there since the 1920s. We'll taste 5 kind of white dry and sweet wines, and you can order snack or hot meal also.
5

Mád

Day 3-4
In the evening we drive to our accommodation in Mád, which is the neighbouring village. If we have time, and you like, we can visit the Ordotox synagogue of Mád, built in 1795. The village is famous for its highly rated gourmet Percze Restaurant owned by ZIP'S company which produces craft beers, so if you've had enough of wine, you can taste the local beers.
6

Tarn of Megyer-hegy

Day 4
The tarn of Megyer mountain is actually a lake which formed in a millstone quarry is located on a 324-metre-high hill above the town of Sárospatak. We hike up there in half an hour. You can walk around the lake which is surrounded by 70-metre-high cliffs. If you brave enough or experienced, you can rent via ferrata set and and climb around the lake.
7

Zemplén Adventure Park

Day 4
The Zemplén Adventure Park offers adrenaline-boosting features: climbing wall, zipline, bobsleigh track. In addition to Hungary's longest funicular and longest bobsleigh track, you can try the extreme sliding track (zipline) known as the Falcon, which is 1036 metres long and connects the two facing hills. You can slide across to the other side on two tracks at next to each other, so you can compete with others. The speed is up to 80 km/h, depending on your weight. Don't forget your selfie stick or your action camera at home.
8

Mád

Day 4-5
This will be our last night together in Hungary, in the village of Mád. I hope we will be full of new experiences and talk some more in the evening. I've tried to organise such activities for you that could bring like-minded people closer together.
9

Budapest Airport

Day 5
Departure Day We have check out from our apartment at the latest by 10 am. The exact departure time depends on your flight or train. I'll try to be as flexible as I could, but please don't choose an early flight or train, cause we need to drive 2,5 hours backwards to reach the airport.
