Traveling Through The Hidden Gems of Israel With A Local

Guided trip
I am Ori, a finance professional and an avid traveler who's very passionate about sports, exploring new places, and meeting people. I'm not a licensed tour guide nor is it my core day job but having traveled to more than 40 countries, I realized I love getting to know new folks and showing them around. I am ethnically Israeli (Latin at heart 😄) but lived overseas for a while. In the last 2 years, I've been a digital nomad. I organized a similar trip in 2019 for my classmates in business school and it was a blast! That prompted my desire to do it once again! Let me tell you about the trip! This 8-day trip offers a balanced combination of visiting ancient and historical sites, exploring multiple cultures and minorities, beach time, sightseeing, hiking, laid-back vacation, partying, culinary experience, and most importantly a lot of FUN! This unforgettable journey kicks off in Jerusalem where we'll visit holy, historical, and heritage sites, as well as a famous local market, and have a party dinner at one of the most renowned establishments in the city. The trip will continue in the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth where we'll be floating and filling ourselves with mud surrounded by a desert landscape. In Hifa, we'll be visiting the Bahai gardens, a Unesco heritage site, and then head over to stroll around the old city of Acre which was conquered by Napoleon's army in the 1800s, and will take advantage of the fine seafood the city offers. After a pit stop in the Sea of Galilee accompanied by a professional archeologist, we'll wrap up the trip in Tel Aviv for a fine finale with a lot of partying🤩, great food, beach time🏖️, and getting familiar with Israeli culture. This opportunity is best suited for those wanting to combine sightseeing, beach time, learning about new cultures, partying, and enjoying fine cuisine. It will include some short walking and hikes but not very heavy on those so don't worry if you're out of shape. This is not an extreme sports trip. For those looking for a super laid-back vacation with nothing on the schedule or luxurious 5-star hotels, it's probably not for you as it will require getting up early on some days and being on the road for some parts. I planned the itinerary to be NOT so packed and intense so we could sleep in on some days and just hang out on the beach but please be aware that some days we will be spending 2-4 hours on the road and will have a full schedule. An 8-day holiday is too short to be able to see everything comfortably and therefore, we'll have to make some effort to be efficient with the times. This is not a Thailand island vacation and there's a lot to see and do here so we better take advantage of it. What is included in the price? - Accommodation - Transportation - Snacks, and some overhead costs. Nobody will have to drive or rent a car as it's included in the costs. Food & drinks, alcoholic beverages, tickets to national parks, and tips are NOT included. We'll be mostly staying in decent 3/4-star hotels and 1 or 2 nights at an Airbnb and we'll be sharing private rooms with an attached bathroom (2 participants per room). I can arrange a private room at an extra cost. Other fun activities on the agenda include meeting a start-up co-founder during dinner in Tel Aviv who will walk us through his journey to start a successful company as well as having Dr. Andrea Garza guiding us through her experience of excavating in archeological sites of Israel. Also, meeting in Haifa an international grad school student who will tell us about her experience and challenge of living and studying in a foreign country. FYI: I am easygoing and flexible so no hard feelings if somebody decides to go on their own or miss an activity or an event planned. Slight changes on the itinerary are possible so if the group decides, we can modify or skip some stuff. Also, I do NOT take a markup on accommodation so the prices stated on this offer reflect the exact same prices one would pay. You should take into account that Israel is not a cheap country and food and drinks at restaurants and bars are pretty expensive compared to other European cities but the upside is that you get very high-quality and delicious food. The weather is expected to be wonderful if you're a summer person. Somewhere in the high 20s to low 30s ballpark and it very rarely (like once every 10 years, no joke) rains or cloudy in the summertime. Come join us for a memorable and life-changing journey in Israel, the land of creation. For inquiries, please reach out to me directly in the Q&A section and set up a virtual meeting as I'm very happy to meet each one of you.

Jerusalem

Day 1-3
Going back in time to one of the ancient and most fascinating cities in the world and the holiest city for 3 religions! We'll be visiting the Old City and the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Via Dolorosa, local markets, best restaurants, and bars.
2

Dead Sea

Day 3-4
The Dead Sea is the lowest land-based elevation on Earth. It is 304 m (997 ft) deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world, and one of the world's saltiest bodies of water. It is one of Israel's primary landmarks and unique natural treasures. We'll be seeing a desert landscape on our way to the Dead Sea and will be arriving in the afternoon to bathe in the sea. Beers and music will be organized for us. In the morning after checking out, we'll climb to Masada, an ancient fortification situated on top of an isolated rock plateau where Herod the Great built two palaces for himself on the mountain and fortified Masada between 37 and 31 BCE.
3

Haifa

Day 4-5
Before we will arrive in Haifa, we'll do a pit stop in a Druze village to get an authentic Druze experience. We'll have dinner at Zafririm, the best restaurant in town, and then head to a bar/club nearby. In the morning, we will have a guide walking us through the Baháʼí Terraces, garden terraces on Mount Carmel in Haifa, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Israel.
4

Acre

Day 5
We'll pass through Acre's old city and stroll around the impressive walls built by the Ottomans and visit the city's port. Then we'll have lunch at a famous seafood restaurant and continue eastbound.
5

Sea of Galilee

Day 5-6
Post Acre, we will continue in the Sea of Galilee, an attraction for Christian pilgrims who visit Israel to see the places where Jesus performed miracles according to the New Testament, such as his walking on water. In addition, we will see archeological sites like Magdala and Capernaum and will be guided by Dr. Andrea Garza, an archaeologist who excavated at the aforementioned sited from 2014-2022. After a short dip in the water of the Magdala beach in the late afternoon, we'll have dinner at a restaurant in Tiberias and stay overnight in the area. On the following day in the morning, we will be driving up to Golan Heights and visiting a lookout point on a mountain where once stood a military base. We'll look out over the Syrian border and walk through tunnels.
6

Tel Aviv-Yafo

Day 6-8
We'll be arriving in the city on Thursday (the first day of the Israeli weekend) afternoon around 5 pm, check-in at the hotel, and then leave for dinner and a night out including bar hopping. On the 2nd day, we will sleep in and do a walking tour of Rotchild Street late morning, visit local markets, have dinner at Jaffa Port, and then have another bar/dance club planned. The following day we'll hit the beach, hang out and have a goodbye lunch + drinks.
