Join me on this fantastic long weekend in Bologna, where we won't only explore the city with its historical beauty and good food, but we will travel towards its hills and surrounding countryside, reaching the medieval town of Brisighella, where we'll have a wine tasting overlooking the Apennines! And we'll end the tour in Faenza, my hometown.

About me: My name is Leti, and I was born in Faenza, a town not far from Bologna, so you can imagine that the itinerary I want to bring you on is dear to my heart. I've loved traveling as much as showing my own territories to friends and travellers for as long as I can remember! This will be my first trip with JoinMyTrip, and I'm really excited for it! I can't wait to show you all my favourite things about my country! 🇮🇹

Accommodation: The accommodation in Bologna will be a hotel in the city center that will make it easy for us to reach all the main landmarks like Piazza Maggiore, Fontana del Nettuno, the Two Towers..etc. (walking distance). The rooms will be shared and a lovely Italian breakfast is included! 🥐 The accommodation in Brisighella is a traditional Italian Agriturismo, the farm has already existed for several years with its production of wine and had recently renovated its barn into accommodation. (We'll stay in three shared rooms) This stay is pretty unique and will provide us a homemade breakfast and a wine tasting of their own production. 🍷 Do you have a question? Trip Itinerary
1

Bologna

Day 1-2
After meeting at the hotel and checking in, we can start exploring the city by foot. Our hotel is in the very heart of Bologna, so we can easily reach Piazza Maggiore, la fontana del Nettuno, Piazza Santo Stefano, le due torri and more. The Christmas markets will start at the end of November in the center of Bologna, so we can already enjoy some Italian traditional Christmas food and buy some crafts as souvenirs from the markets. In the night we will OBVIOUSLY try the Bolognese ragu' in one of the most visited restaurants by locals.
2

Bologna

Day 2-3
After a nice breakfast in the hotel, we will use the morning for possible visits, would you like to climb the Asinelli tower and have a full view of Bologna from the sky? Sure! Would you like to visit the Archiginnasio and witness one of the oldest libriaries in the world? Of course! In the afternoon, we'll stroll around the Margherita Gardens and their lovely Serre (greenhouses), where we can have a nice Italian aperitivo with Spritz.
3

Brisighella

Day 3-4
In the morning we will take a 40 mins train ride to Faenza (my hometown) where we'll pick up my family's car to go to the beautiful medieval town of Brisighella (20 mins car ride). The village is characterized by the "Three Hills", on which rest the Manfredian fortress, the Monticino sanctuary and the clock tower. You can reach them with an easy hike, and the view from there is amazing. We will later check in a traditional Italian Agriturismo, a farm that also provides accommodation. A unique stay that also includes a wine tasting of their own production. CAN'T WAIT!
4

Faenza

Day 4
The morning will begin, waking up in the middle of the Italian countryside and hills with the smell of Cappuccino in the air and homemade breakfast. We will then head to Faenza, my hometown, for a visit of the historic city center and one last lunch together. In the afternoon I will drive you back to Faenza train station where you can head back to Bologna or its airport or any other destination!
