About ME: I am a German from Berlin (with Turkish and Greek roots), currently living in France. I am a travel addict and visited the last month various different cities in Europe. But I fell in love with one place: France! Come and visit Toulouse with me :) I am a 23-year-old German teacher that loves meeting new people. I am easy going and friendly. I love exploring new places, new cultures and new dishes ;) In my free time I like to read or paint, meet with friends and socialize. Not only that, but I also like visiting museums, castles, churches, historical sides, restaurants and much, much more. On chilled weekends, you can also find me with a drink and some cheese on a balcony or garden. My motto: Life should be enjoyed and We only live ones. So, let's make memories together!

The Accomodation: We will stay in a warm family home and will be in the heart of Toulouse. The accommodation is in the lively yet quiet neighbourhood of Saint Cyprien. The entire accommodation (120 m2) is on the garden side. Only we have access to it. With its shaded terrace, large garden (300 m2 in the city centre), table tennis table and table football table, it will be both a terraced house and holiday home. A great extra is the big kitchen and the TV room ;) On the ground floor, we have: - The garden, the terrace with dining table and chairs, table tennis and table football. - A set, kitchen and living room (45 m ²) open onto the terrace through 4 French doors. - A TV room (equipped with a convertible sofa, 2 people, very comfortable) overlooking the living room. - A laundry room (washing machine, dryer, freezer, large sink). - A separate toilet. On the 1st floor, 3 bedrooms: - 1 double bed 140 cm and a desk (French door on the 2nd terrace). - 2 bunk beds 90cm/200cm (French door on the 2nd terrace). - 1 double bed 140cm and a small desk (French door on 2nd terrace). - 1 shower room: shower cubicle and double washbasin. - 1 independent toilet.

Trip Itinerary
1

Toulouse

Day 1-2
Welcome to Toulouse! The first day you will arrive in "Le Ville Rose". You can arrive by plane, train or bus. Our accommodation is in a central, but calm location. After checking-in (after 5 pm) in our spacious and homely accommodation, we will have a delicious dinner at the nearby authentic Tunisian Restaurant "Au Coeur de Tunis St. Cyprien". If you still have energy, we can visit one of the nearby bars or take a walk next to the river Garonne ;)
2

Albi

Day 2-3
Albi is arguably the most interesting small city in the Midi-Pyrénées region. So we will have to visit this gem on the Tarn river. Depending on when we want to arrive in Albi, we can have breakfast at "Canopee Coffee House": Granola bowls, warm pancakes, delicious eggs with Avocado toast - here we can find everything. In Albi, we will visit the unique medieval fortress and UNESCO-listed Albi Cathedral. Optional the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, dedicated to the famous artist, can be visited too. Lastly, we will take a stroll through the charming streets of Old Town. Back in Toulouse, we will have a delicious French dinner at "La Cote de Boeuf".
3

Basilique Saint-Sernin de Toulouse

Day 3
On Day 3 we will visit all the main attractions of Toulouse. After breakfast, we will visit the famous Basilica Saint-Sernin de Toulouse. This imposing Romanesque basilica was constructed in honour of St. Sernin (Saturninus in Latin), the first bishop of Toulouse. He was born in the early third century in Greece, and was one of seven bishops that Pope Fabian sent to actively preach the Christian gospels to the pagans. The Saint-Sernin Basilica of Toulouse is one of the jewels of the city in terms of heritage! Let's explore it together!
4

Le Capitole

Day 3
The political centre of Toulouse, France today is "Place du Capitole", an open city square to the east of a beautiful eighteenth-century neoclassical building. Here we can find: An emblematic building, which is the home to the town hall, a theatre and rooms of state where you can bump into celebrities from the city. We will visit this important building! During Christmastime, we can find the main Christmas market of Toulouse here. More than 100 wooden cabins with gifts, local products, and food adorn Place du Capitol and its impressive buildings. If you’re looking for Christmas gifts, you will find everything from jewellery, kids’ toys, cosmetics, chocolates, local wine, and more. Some stalls are dedicated to all the “Christmas musts” like vin chaud (mulled wine), crêpes, churros, and Christmas decorations. If you’re in the mood to taste something more regional, try Aligot, Tome cheese blended into mashed potatoes. We will come back here in the evening :)
5

Couvent des Jacobins

Day 3
In 1215 in Toulouse, Dominic of Osma founded the Order of Preachers that bears his name - the Dominican Order. And almost 800 years later it remains an essential part of life in Toulouse and one of France’s more arresting sights on first entering. We will visit the church and cloister. Afterwards, we will go for a ride on a little train! The trains touristic are an original way to discover the historic heart of Toulouse in a short time, there are two routes we can choose from, and the tour comes with audio guide. By choosing Tour 1 "Garonne", we will discover the main monuments of the historic centre such as Saint-Sernin Basilica and Saint-Étienne Cathedral as well as the banks of the Garonne (duration: approximately 40 minutes). Tour 2 "Canal du Midi", takes us to other key monuments around the Ville Rose, such as the Church of La Dalbade, the Hôtel de Pierre, and the magnificent Garden Quarter (duration: approximately 40 minutes). Afterwards we will have lunch at the "Pizzeria Osteria Le Bellini".
6

Muséum de Toulouse

Day 3
Now there will be room for free time, so you can visit the places you would enjoy most OR a museum visit. There are three choices: Museum de Toulouse, Art Museum Paul Dupuy or Musée départemental de la Résistance & de la Déportation (and Le Castelet). I myself will visit the Museum de Toulouse, a museum of natural history in Toulouse that holds a collection of over 2.5 million pieces that the museum partly displays in its 3,000 square metres of exhibition space. Another interesting Christmas market is "Marché de Noël Artisanal et Solidaire" taking place on Allées Jules-Guesde (next to the Grand Rond). This community market brings together craftsmen and ethical local producers for three weeks of Christmas celebration. We will visit this beautiful Christmas market together!
7

Le Capitole

Day 3-4
In the evening, we will return to the main Christmas market of Toulouse. The Place du Capitole is transformed from 25 November to 25 December into a European winter festival, with many stalls selling local produce and artisenal gifts, jewellery and food. Enjoy a warming glass of mulled wine or enjoy some of Toulouse’s famous sausages, Aligot Aveyronnais and hot chestnuts as we celebrate the end of the year. At the heart of the square is a Christmas Village constructed especially for the occasion with traditional chalets, as well as an ice rink. For dinner, we will go to "La Mare aux Canards". Where we will enjoy a Christmasy dinner with traditional French duck. The brave ones can also try the famous French snails ;)
8

Toulouse

Day 4
On the last day, we will have to check out till 11 pm. For the ones which depart later, I will help to organize a luggage storage. I am sure you will leave Toulouse with beautiful memories and unique Christmas gifts for family and friends :) And then you will understand why I love France this much ^^ Le vie est un beau reve, mais ne vous reveillez pas <3
