Guided trip
πŸ‘‹ Hey fellow travelers! Let me introduce myself, I'm an adventure-seeking anthropologist to be. The travel bug caught me when I spend a year in Cape Town. Since then I'm always seeking for new adventures. I love to explore new places and meet people from different cultural backgrounds. I'm very open-minded and looking forward to meeting some cool people here :) About the trip πŸ—ΊοΈ I'm planning a small road trip down the coast starting in beautiful Cape Town. Starting very early at 6.30, our first stop will be Stony Point Nature Reserve, where we will see some cute African Penguins before we continue driving to Hermanus, one of the 12 best places to watch whales, where we will spend the first night. The next day in the early morning we drive down to Gansbaai or Kleinbaai to do Shark Cage Diving (you decide if you want to join or spend half day in the village). After the shark cage diving at around 1 pm, we continue driving towards the southernmost point of Africa, Kap Agulhas. After spending the afternoon there, we will return to Hermanus in the evening to have dinner and spend another night there. If we haven't seen any whales yet or if we feel like we need to see more, we will do whale watching boat trip from Hermanus before returning to Cape Town. To summarize what is included in the price πŸ’° πŸ›οΈ Accommodation (Share room) πŸš— Transportation Everything else as food, extra activities, or further expenses will be divided on spot. Looking forward you to joining me on this adventure! Further details we can discuss in a call or by message!

Trip Itinerary

Cape Town

Day 1
This is where our trip will start. I can pick you up somewhere in central Cape Town. We can talk about the pick up point once it's time. Pick up time will be around 6.30 am to have the full day to explore.
2

Stony Point Nature Reserve

Day 1
Around 90 mins drive from Cape Town, at our first stop we can watch the cute Penguins in the Stony Point Nature Reserve. The Reserve opens at 8am, we will try to get there by 8am to avoid crowds and make the most of our day. Entrance fee is R 25. For more info check: https://www.capenature.co.za/reserves/stony-point-nature-reserve/
3

Hermanus

Day 1-2
After watching the cute african penguins we will continue our drive to Hermanus, where we will spend the rest of the day. If we are lucky we can watch some whales from the shore. We will use the rest of the day to look out for those gentle giants and explore the surrounding areas. We can also head to Walkers Bay to look out for whales. For more info check: https://www.capenature.co.za/reserves/walker-bay-nature-reserve

Van Dyks Bay

Day 2
In the early morning we will drive down to Kleinbaai or Gansbaai for the shark cage diving trip. You can decide if you want to join (you can also just watch from the boat) or spend half the day in Kleinbaai or Gansbaai. I haven't decided on the shark cage diving company yet but it will cost around R1600-R2500.

Kap Agulhas

Day 2
After an exciting morning we will continue our drive (ca. 75 mins) at around 1 pm to the southern most point of africa, kap agulhas and spend the rest of the day here, exploring the surroundings. In the evening we will return to Hermanus.
6

Hermanus

Day 2-3
We will return to Hermanus after a very exciting day. If we haven't already seen whales or if we decide we havent seen enough, we can plan a whale watching boat trip in the morning, before driving back to Cape Town in the afternoon.
7

Cape Town

Day 3
We will return to Cape Town in the late afternoon or early evening. I'm pretty flexible about the drop off point. We can talk about it once it is time. Also, if we had a great time, I'm still in town the next day. I might go to Cape Point, you are welcome to join too.
