This ski adventure is an opportunity for skiers to spend 3 days skiing some of Austria's best pistes in the Zillertal Valley! The Zillertal Valley offers some of the best and most picturesque ski runs in Austria, along with award-winning restaurants, quaint mountain huts, and state-of-the-art lifts. Zillertal is a paradise for groups of friends, couples, and families. Each ski area in the Valley has terrain for beginners and experienced skiers alike, there is something for everyone. Having spent the last ten winter seasons skiing the Alps, almost exclusively the Tyrol region and particularly the Zillertal Valley, we know all the areas very well. Each day we will set out to ski the best snow and most interesting runs. We know which runs to ski according to the time of day and snow conditions. We will gauge the best ski area and terrain for the group, in the ability and weather conditions. After the ski day, you can relax or visit the local brewery, a schnapps distillery, apres ski or taste some local cheese. Dinner will be served at your hotel each night. If you are a passionate skier, looking for a weekend full of fun on-piste skiing, and exploring new terrain every day, then this is the trip for you! About me! My name is Stacey and I have been skiing my entire life! I am a very active and outdoorsy person in my 50’s. My husband Dave and I are both passionate skiers, having grown up skiing. I am American and Dave is Canadian, but we have spent 20 of the last 30 years living in Europe. We love to share our passion and knowledge with other people. I am a certified ski instructor, teach English, and like to have fun. Dave is the driver, organizer, and also likes to have a good time.

Details about the accommodation: You will stay at a three-star hotel situated in the peaceful center of Zell am Ziller, close to the walking paths along the river and spectacular mountain views. There is everything you need within a 5-minute walk, including shopping, cafes, train, and the ski bus. Breakfast and dinner are included!

Zell am Ziller

Day 1

Hop on the Zillertalbahn train to Zell am Ziller and I will meet you at the station and get you settled with a hotel, ski rental (if needed), and 3-day lift tickets for a fun weekend of skiing. If you would like to drive to Zell am Ziller or would like an airport shuttle, it can be arranged.

Mayrhofen

Day 1-2

Where we ski each day will depend on the weather. We plan to spend one day at each of 3 different resorts, all within a 15-minute drive from Zell. We will take you up to Mayrhofen one day and give you a guided tour of all of our favorite slopes and restaurants on the mountain. The ski day will be followed by some free time in the Mayrhofen village where you can shop, have a coffee or enjoy the après-ski scene. You can take the train back to the accommodation in Zell, or we can arrange transportation.

Hochzillertal

Day 2-3

We will spend a day skiing Hoch Zillertal and Hoch Fugen. We know the resorts well, including where to ski when, depending on the weather and time of day. Hoch Zillertal is known for its fine food, and we will eat lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. After skiing, we will return to the accommodation in Zell. A tour at the local Zillertal Brewery or a Schnapps distillery will follow the ski day.

Zillertal Arena

Day 3-4

Our third resort to explore is the Zillertal Arena. The Zillertal Arena is one of 5 connected resorts, making it the largest ski area in the Zillertal Valley. If the weather is agreeable, we will ski the picturesque slope from The Arena to Gerlos and enjoy lunch on the slopes before returning to the Arena. After our third ski day, we will say goodbye at the train station in Zell am Ziller.
