Guided trip
Exploring the Lofoten islands by sailboat is without any doubt a unique experience! The dramatic views, especially during twilight hours is just amazing. Mountains rise up straight out of the ocean. Land and ocean are constantly taking over in the views. The Lofoten Islands are famous for the northern ligths, the midnightsun, small towns and majestic views. The start and finish location of this expedition is Moskenes. Along our voyage we will go through some well known fjords, islands and cities. The route is made to be weatherproof, flexible and to adapt to all sorts of level of fitness while maintaining and guarantee a maximum usage of our time. Your stay & transportation: You will stay aboard our sailing vessel the Moondance, a custom-built 53ft aluminium Koopmans, which will also be our form of transportation. Moondance can sleep up to 9 people (divided over 2 cabins) and has a big central lounge. There is sufficient heating, a hot shower, a toilet, storage space and more, so it is built for comfort. In the day-to-day description you can find more information and photos about the Moondance, so you will have a good impression of what is awaiting you. Who are we? My name is Sanne (26) and together with Luuk (28) & Olivier (28) we form the Moondance team. The Moondance is owned by us, and therefor we know all her ins and outs. We will be your crew on board and will be responsible for sailing you around. Together we have over 30.000 nautical miles of sailing experience and have safely managed any thinkable situation at sea. You do not need any sailing experience to join this trip, and we are happy to teach you about sailing if you want. Over the years we've had many amazing people on board and we would love to see you next! What's included? - Moondance plus all facilities for 7 days (6 nights) - Experienced skipper and crew - All meals during the trip on board (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) What's not included? - Flight tickets - Expenses on shore - Personal travel insurance

Trip Itinerary
1

Moskenes

Day 1-2
After arriving at the Airport of Bodø, you will have to transfer to Moskenes by ferry. This will take a little over three hours. In the Moskenes Harbour the Moondance awaits you and you will meet the Sailing Crew in the afternoon. After unpacking and settling in on the boat, we will discuss the plan and your expectations for the next seven days. We will set sail after a comfy nights rest.
2

Ramberg

Day 2-3
The beach of Ramberg is located next to a small fishing village. As you enter Ramberg from the east, you will find a sign directing you to a viewpoint just above the beach. Here you can take some really impressive pictures of the beach, Ramberg and the mountains stretching westward.
3

Unstad

Day 3-4
Our day starts with a hearty breakfast in the morning, and you will be able to prepare a takeaway lunch. Before dinner, we will set sail again and anchor in sight of the next day’s adventure. We gladly enjoy our well deserved Moondancel and be surprised by the catch of the day!
4

Kvalvika Beach

Day 4-5
The route we will sail will be a continuum breathtaking highlights as we will be experiencing the Lofoten mountains from the best point of view, that is from the water. Traveling by sailboat brings the possibility of discovering the most remote and unknown fjords and islands.
5

Horseidvika

Day 5-6
The remote Horseidvika on the island of Moskenesøya may just be Lofoten's most beautiful beach - a true paradise for hikers and nature-lovers.
6

Værøy

Day 6-7
Værøy has everything typical of Lofoten. White sandy beaches, a rich bird life and a rich fishing history, all while still being a living fishing village. Naturally, the largest industry on the island is fishing and due to the climate it is perfect for stockfish production. The stockfish trade with foreign countries has led to Venice becoming Værøy’s friendship municipality.
7

Moskenes

Day 7
After breakfast, it’s time to hug it out with everybody and commemorate all the great memories made and the adventures lived during the tour. We will give you a ride to the ferry terminal and wave goodbye.
