What's special?
special Local Experience
Join me for one week exploring the beautiful state of Colorado and taking in the fall foliage. In the past, I lived in Colorado for several years so I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to share some of my favorite places with you :) This will be an active trip, so some hiking experience and physical fitness is required. Each day will be a new adventure! The trip will start and end in Denver and we will all share a rental car. Highlights include Rocky Mountain National Park, Hanging Lake, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and the San Juan Mountains.

About me! I am in the process of completing my graduate degree and looking forward to travel as much as I can before transitioning into my career. In the past, I spent many years working in the hospitality industry including tour guiding. I love experiencing new cultures, places, foods and people. When traveling, I like well-balanced trips that combine different types of experiences while also having some time for slowing down and relaxation.

Details about the accommodation: During our trip, we will have accommodation in a total of 4 different towns as we drive through different areas of Colorado. We will be staying in shared rooms in hotels or apartments. The exact location will be determined once the total number of tripmates is confirmed. Individual rooms can be requested for additional cost.

Trip Itinerary
1

Denver

Day 1
We will hang around the city of Denver until everyone arrives. Depending on everyone's preferences, we can hang around the city and river, explore the art museum, or visit the botanical gardens. Once we have the whole group together, we will head towards our first night's accommodation in Estes Park. On the way there we will stop in Boulder where we can explore Pearl Street Mall and have a group dinner together.
2

Rocky Mountain National Park

Day 1-2
After spending the night in the charming town of Estes Park, we will wake up early and head to Rocky Mountain National Park. Here we will explore the incredible landscapes and do some hiking. The level of difficulty will be chosen based on everyone's experience as well as the weather conditions. Most likely we will do a few moderate, shorter length hikes to see some of the highlights of the park. Afterwards, if the weather allows, we will drive over Trail Ridge Road (the highest elevation paved road in America), as we continue our journey into the mountains.
3

Glenwood Springs

Day 2-3
We will arrive to Glenwood Springs in the evening just in time to enjoy dinner after spending the day exploring Rocky Mountain park. The next morning, we will hike up to see the scenic Hanging Lake. Afterwards, there is the option to spend a few hours relaxing at Iron Mountain Hot Springs or visiting the theme park situated at the top of the canyon for those who want more of a thrill. We will then head over to the town of Palisade where we can visit a local winery and spend the night.
4

Palisade

Day 3-4
After one night in Palisade, we will head up to the charming town of Ouray also known as the "Switzerland of America." We will be spending two nights here. On the first day, we will do a hike and explore a waterfall in the area. There will be time to explore the shops and art galleries in town and once again an option to visit local hot springs in the evening for those who are interested.
5

Ouray

Day 4-6
On the second day, we will head out in the morning to the nearby ski town of Telluride. While driving there, we will see spectacular fall colors and have opportunities to stop for photos along the way. We will once again hike together near Telluride and have plenty of time in the afternoon to explore this charming city. We will return to Ouray to spend one more night there.
6

Aspen

Day 6-7
We will head out early and make our way towards Aspen. First, we will stop at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park to hike and take in the dramatic scenery of this canyon. We will then make our way over to the town of Aspen over Kebler pass, a mountain pass road well known for its impressive display of fall colors. We will have the evening to explore this famous ski town before spending our final night of the trip here.
7

Denver

Day 7
We will wake up early and begin to make our way back to Denver driving over Independence Pass for a final spectacular display of fall colors in one of the world's largest Aspen groves. This last day will be planned according to the time group members will be traveling. If time allows, we can make a few stops on the way back or explore Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver.
