I've been itching to return to Portugal ever since my first visit earlier this year. Unfortunately, shortly after hitting the road, I had to cancel my planned solo hike along the Camino in January. Bummer, right? 🤷‍♀️ But here's the exciting part - I'm absolutely determined to hit the road again this year and make up for lost time and I would love to have you accompany me on the journey! To me, my first time in Porto made me realise that this is the kind of place that grabs hold of your heart and never lets go. 🌄 Shortly after our arrival, we'll set out on the coastal route of the Portuguese Camino. This ancient pilgrim route will lead us through breathtaking natural landscapes, adorable villages that seem straight out of a storybook, and inspiring historical sites. And of course, beautiful beaches and stunning sunsets! We'll have the chance to meet the friendliest locals. I know they will welcome us with open arms and be eager to share their stories. 🚶‍♂️ Over the course of 12 days, we'll cover approximately 250 km, with daily hikes ranging from a cosy 15 to an exhilarating 29 km. So, get those boots all laced up and let your trusty feet lead you on a wild ride filled with blistering fun adventures! (pun intended) But wait, there's more 🕍 Along our path, we'll encounter some seriously mind-blowing landmarks and attractions. Think ancient cathedrals, like the one in Porto that'll leave you in awe, the charming Ponte de Lima, and the picturesque wonderland of the Galician countryside when we reach Spain. Oh, and the grand finale - the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. Goosebumps. Now, of course, we'll get to rest our weary feet and heads at night.
