Porto
Day 1-2
Day 1: Exploring the city of Porto and Port wine We meet in Porto at one of the most beautiful train stations in the world, "São Bento" Station. Crossing Porto's most famous bridge over the Douro River, the "Ponte Dom Luis I", we will reach Vila Nova de Gaia. In one of the cellars we will taste different types of Port wine. For lunch, we'll try delicious "bacalhau" (codfish), as well as amazing "pastéis de nata" for dessert. Walking along the riverbank, we'll get the best photos and views of Ribeira. We will also take a look at the World of Wine, and those who are willing will be able to visit selected museums (e.g. The Wine Experience, Planet Cork, Pink Palace or The Chocolate Story). In the late afternoon, we will climb the Arrábida Bridge to admire the sunset over the joining of the Douro River to the Atlantic Ocean. At the end of the day, a shared dinner at one of the local restaurants. We spend in Porto one night in a hotel in double rooms with bathrooms (breakfast included).

Day 2-3
Day 2: Discovering the Douro Valley's natural treasures After breakfast, we will start our journey to the Douro Valley, which can easily be called an enchanted valley. The beauty and magic offered by its landscapes were appreciated and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. First, we visit Amarante, where we try a very specific cake :-) Then we will drive to Peso da Régua to visit the Museu do Douro and have time for lunch. For dessert, we will discover how Moscatel de Favaios is vinified and, of course, taste this unique wine. We will also go to see the spectacular landscape from a beautiful viewpoint before our dinner at a local restaurant in Favaios or Alijó. To experience the vibe of the Douro Valley, we will spend 2 nights in Alijó, in one of the Quintas, in double rooms with bathrooms (breakfast included).

Day 3-4
Day 3: The birthplace of Port wine After breakfast, a drive to Pinhão.... for me personally the heart of the Douro Valley. We will start our day with a challenging but relaxing walking trail, good for adventurers and nature lovers. We will follow a path among vines, forests, terraces, orchards and olive trees to finish with a tasting of Quinta das Carvalhas Ports. We will regenerate over lunch at a local restaurant in Pinhão. For dessert, we will take a 1-hour Rabelo boat cruise to admire the landscape of the valley from river level. We will then visit Quinta do Seixo to taste Douro wines on the terrace with an impressive view of the river. On the way back to our Quinta we will stop for dinner at a local restaurant in Favaios or Alijó.
