Copenhagen

Day 1-7
Copenhagen is the Capital of Denmark, one of the most charming and beautiful cities in Europe. It's full of things to do, see and experience. The city is host to numerous museums, castles and great food. From Copenhagen, we're going to be able to explore the city and some of the best sightseeing spots throughout the capital region.
2

ARKEN Museum for Moderne Kunst

Day 7
ARKEN Museum of Modern Art is a monumental landmark surrounded by a man-made beach escape just south of Copenhagen. The museum showcases one of Scandinavia’s finest collections of contemporary art, and the maritime-inspired architecture has gained the museum international renown.
3

Ordrupgaard

Day 7
Ordrupgaard is a museum specializing in French Impressionism, featuring artists such as Monet, Renoir and Gauguin. The museum also has a significant collection of Danish art concentrating on Hammershøi and his contemporaries, and arranges a succession of special exhibitions. In the park, you can enjoy works by international contemporary artists – and visit Danish architect Finn Juhl’s world-famous house. New wings by Zaha Hadid and Snøhetta emphasize the museum’s focus on excellent architecture.
4

Danish Architecture Centre

Day 7
This year, Copenhagen has been designated the World Capital of Architecture. Danish Architecture Center is the primary partner for the World Capital of Architecture program and throughout the year DAC will be the epicenter for a wide range of activities and exhibitions that you won’t want to miss.
5

Copenhagen Contemporary

Day 7
Copenhagen Contemporary (CC) is Copenhagen’s international art center showing installation art created by world stars and new emerging talents. CC occupies the magnificent former B&W welding hall, remodeled by architect Dorthe Mandrup, offering a total of 7,000 m2 of beautiful industrial halls with plenty of space to show the technical and large formats in which many contemporary artists work: total installations, performance art, and monumental video works. Art that can be often entered and sensed with the whole body.
6

Den Frie Udstilling

Day 7
The primary purpose of Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art is to show exhibitions rooted in the collective tradition and is especially focused on contemporary artistic communities, artists’ associations and experimental groups and networks. The house is built and owned by artists with the fundamental aim to show the latest in contemporary art. Through approximately 10 exhibitions each year, Den Frie presents an interesting and varied exhibition program with both Danish and international artists, all of which relate to current issues. The house functions as a platform for contemporary art productions with participation of a great variety of artists and close dialogue between artworks, artists and audience. Located in one of Copenhagen’s most remarkable buildings, designed by J.F. Willumsen in 1898, the facade of the building is decorated with a figure of Pegasus with a youth on its back, which in Greek mythology symbolises free art and inspiration of poets. The mantra was then, as it is today, that Den Frie is “highly absorbed in its contemporary age”.
7

Louisiana Museum of Modern Art

Day 7
Louisiana is considered a major work of Danish modernist architecture. In the well-balanced style of the late 1950's discreet modernism, the museum presents itself as a horizontal and understated building complex that fits gracefully and intimately into the landscape. A walk in the Sculpture Park is an essential part of the Louisiana experience year-round. This is where you meet panoramic views of the Sound and can really see how the buildings blend into the landscape. You can also explore, get lost, and find calm. International in its perspective as well as its scale, The Louisiana Collection comprises a good 4,000 works. It covers the period from 1945 to the present and includes almost every genre – with an emphasis on painting and sculpture.
8

SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst

Day 7
SMK is the largest art museum in Denmark and is also officially the so-called ‘main museum’ for visual art in the country. This gives SMK a special responsibility for helping to nurture and develop museum activities as such in all of Denmark – and for cultivating and strengthening co-operation with museums in Denmark and abroad.
9

The Round Tower

Day 7
The Round Tower is one of Denmark’s best-known and most visited edifices. The foundation stone was laid on 7/7 1637 and five years later the Round Tower was finished as the first part of the Trinity Complex, which was designed to accommodate three things: the Observatory at the top of the tower, the University Library above the Trinity Church and the church itself below.
