Guided trip
Hi, guys! This time around, we are going to explore the north of Italy by car! Reunited in Milan, the first day we will leave immediately for Como, where will we visit the city center and take the funicular to Brunate. The second day we will move from Lombardy to Emilia Romagna, one of the biggest regions in Italy, here, among other things, we’ll be able to explore the world’s LARGEST labyrinth! During the third day, instead, we will finally reach the coast: we will breathe in sea air as we visit small perched villages and roads less traveled by tourism, being more difficult to reach without a car, and for this reason even more special. On the fourth day, we will return toward Milan, where we’ll be able to visit the city with a local (ME 😉) and attend a private tour among Mysteries and Legends! The last day will be shaped according to your needs and flight departure times, to ensure more activities for those leaving in the afternoon/evening and to allow the others to reach the airport on time during the morning. But first… it’s-a me, Giulia! I'm the typical Italian girl, raised on Margherita Pizza 🍕 and weird hands gestures! I love meeting new people and getting to know new cultures. Whether you are looking for a new friend, a new mum or a new mascotte, I can be the one for you 😬! Where are we staying? 🏡 Being a Road Trip, we are going to change our “home” every night! The accommodations will respectively be: —> COMO: apartment —> EMILIA ROMAGNA: B&B (breakfast included) —> LIGURIA COAST: B&B (breakfast included + private room with a little extra charge) —> MILAN: apartment What about the transportation?🚙 As you have probably guessed, 😆 we are going to move around mainly by car 🚗! I’ll be your private driver, and we are going to use my own car, so we will only spend on gasoline, and you can completely forget about the car rental fees since it's already included! Each day we will move to the next destination, for a journey of about two hours, early in the morning (leaving around 7/8 AM, depending on the day), so that we do not waste time and fully enjoy the day's new destination. As for Milan, instead, for the most central areas, we are going to travel by Subway 🚇 (you can estimate about 1,50 € per ride). The trip costs include 💰: - All the accommodations - Car transportation (gasoline and toll booths for the whole trip) - In Como: funicular round-trip ticket - In Emilia-Romagna: Masone Labyrinth entrance fee - In Liguria: Borgio Verezzi Caves - In Milan: Private Tour with a Local: “Milan: between Mystery & Legend” - In Milan: Duomo Pass (Visit to the Cathedral and Terraces) - Breakfast for the 3rd and 4th day. - Free Wi-Fi in all the accommodations (I still recommend you buying a Tourist SIM online, so that you can be connected wherever you prefer, whenever you feel like it. The main phone operators I recommend in Italy are: WindTre, Tim, Iliad & Vodafone). - Travel Insurance (unluckily, for now, provided only for travelers from Germany and Austria)
What is not included 💸: - Flights (Nevertheless, prices to Milan from major European cities are currently very affordable, between 30 and 150 euros. They can be a little more expensive coming outside Europe.) - Subway Transportation in Milan (you can consider more or less 10 €) - Lunches & Dinners (I’ll find for you the best restaurants and taverns for quality-price, so you are guaranteed the best Italian food 🍕 at the best price available!) - Drinks, cocktails and apéritifs - Other activities not mentioned in “The trip costs include” - Travel Insurance (except travelers from Germany and Austria) ❕ IMPORTANT GUIDELINES: —> It will be mandatory for this specific trip to be lightly equipped, as we will be sharing a car with 5 of us, and the trunk will only be one 🤓! I suggest a backpack for the all load and a small bag 🎒 for the daily explorations. —> Always bring some cash 💶. Italy has finally switched to mandatory card payment availability… but the old generations are still in love with their banknotes and coins, so it will be easier to buy stuff in small souvenir and food stores (which are usually the best ones to explore!). —> Dress in layers 🧥: despite its reputation as a hot country, it is not always summer in Italy! Remember to bring at least a couple of sweaters or sweatshirts! —> For the first day, we will leave once you all arrive at the meeting point. At the latest, we will leave by lunchtime (or soon after), so it will be essential to book a flight on the morning of April 21! The meeting point will be in Milan Central Station, where I will pick you up directly by car. Following, you can also find a video, realized by a great photographer, about two of our diverse destinations: Borgio & Finalborgo (third day), which you have probably heard less about, but which live by their own magic lost in the past! 1

Lake Como

Day 1-2
Como is a world renowned tourist destination and thousands of people flock there every year to explore the impressive lake and the surrounding natural landscape. We are going to stay in a cute and comfortable Italian kitsch-style apartment, just a 15-20 minute walk (an amazing one close to the lake) 🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏻 from the luxurious city center. First, we will visit Orrido di Nesso... what is that? Oh well, your answer is immediately displayed in this trip Cover 😬). Later on, we’ll visit the splendid Cathedral, explore the lakefront and take the funicular to Brunate, with its lavish old villas and breathtaking views across the lake. We will also be able to enjoy a typical Italian apéritif with lake view (you haven’t visited Italy yet if you’ve never had a couple of Spritz in a row!).
2

Gossolengo

Day 2-3
EMILIA ROMAGNA: We are going to discover the western side of this amazing region, first visiting the ancient Castell’Arquato with its crazy castle and walled citadel. It will then be possible to visit Graziano Visconti, a peculiar Neo-Medieval village, re-built in more recent times, with its quaint little stores and unique atmosphere (depending on the majority of the group, we will choose one out of the two options!) In the afternoon, finally, the LARGEST Labyrinth in the World will await for us! Our Bed & Breakfast will be a crazy one, lost in the past and surrounded by the Emiliana countryside 🌳. I have already been there a couple of times, and the place is so beautiful to be left speechless… not mentioning the deadly-good breakfast they offer.
3

Verezzi

Day 3-4
LIGURIA (FINALE LIGURE & BORGIO VEREZZI) Although it is "Cinque Terre" that are always the talk of international tourism, there is an area of the Ligurian coastline still unknown to most, but just as magical. Finale Ligure (literally, the end of Liguria) and Verezzi offer amazing food 🍝, endless coastline and breathtaking views, far from the tourist hustle and bustle, and difficult to reach without a car. We will stay overnight in a such a peculiar B&B dispersed in the mountains to fully enjoy the Ligurian hinterland, but we will mainly explore the coast and its pearls. Between underground cave tours, mountaintop perched villages and seaside walks, we will breathe fully the essence of the Ligurian land, as only a local can do.
4

Milan

Day 4-5
Milan! Our last stop! We will be able to explore the center of the city, while discovering its monuments, trendy areas, restaurants and bars. The visit to the Dome & its Terraces and the Private Tour “Milan: between Mystery & Legend” will be the focal points of our explorations… but we’ll also be possible to discover the famous Milan nightlife! I’ve been living in this crazy city all my life, and I can assure you, it always gives its best at nigh 😜! We are going to stay in a apartment close to the famous "Bosco Verticale", only 50m to the closest metro, and only 10 minutes walking by Central Station, to ensure an easy departure towards the different airports of choice (Stazione Centrale, in fact, provides transportation via subway, bus, train and cab to all three reachable Lombard airports: Malpensa, Orio al Serio & Linate).

Questions and Answers

Hi Giulia, I am interested for my own travels where do you stay in Verezzi? Thank you.

We won't actually stay in Verezzi, but in Tovo San Giacomo 🤗 and the place is a little B&B in the mountains. Hope I answered your question!
