This will be that ONE trip you'll never forget! Join me on this adventure, discovering South Africa the non-tourist way! I put a lot of effort in finding a local tour guide who can show us off the path routes, avoiding tourist crowds along the way and rather showing us the REAL Africa. For me the culture is a very important factor, so our trip will be a mix of adventure, wild animals and learning from locals about their beautiful country! We will see nature & wilderness at the Mapungugwe National Park (the border of South Africa to Botswana & Zimbabwe), drive over 500km through Kruger National Park on our own safari, stop at Blyde River Canyon & the Panorama Route (and much more!). We will see wild animals, stunning nature and meet new cultures in the kingdom of eSwatini (Swaziland), in KwaZulu Natal, at the Elephant Coast, at the Ghost Mountain and in the Zululand. Get ready for a trip that will change your life and your relationship to yourself and nature forever – and don't worry, I'm also scared of snakes :D
About me: I'm Jen, a digital nomad and photographer. I'm currently based in Cape Town, South Africa to explore Africa from here, but I'm originally German and have travelled almost 30 countries already. This Tanzania adventure will be a very special one for myself as it is planned to make a deeper connection with nature and yourself. I partnered up with a local in order to provide the best Tanzania experience while bearing in mind to be respectful to the locals, animals and the nature around us. I'm a very open-minded and curious person, and therefore love to meet new people and discover new cultures and languages around the world.
Accommodation: As we will be travelling with an Overland Truck (including all camping equipment & gear) we will be camping in 2-person dome tents (incl. mattresses). You will most likely share your tent with another trip mate (or me haha) so better be prepared for that ;) We will prepare our own fresh breakfast, light lunch and dinner at the bonfire every day (all included in the price already). You can let me know in the Q&A section if you have any questions about the trip!

Trip Itinerary
1
O.R. Tambo International Airport
Day 1
This is the beginning of our journey. We will all plan on arriving at the same day because we will most likely not be coming on the same flights. We'll just wait until everyone arrived, and then the trip can begin!
2
Mapungubwe National Park
Day 1-4
We will land in Johannesburg, and then we will be picked up by our local tour guide Hannu in the overland truck and head towards Mapungugwe National Park, where we spend three nights camping in the nature and wilderness pure! This stop is expected to calm all of us down a bit and make us arrive and the beautiful south of Africa.
3
Kruger National Park
Day 4-9
I know what you're thinking – this is the most tourist thing to do in South Africa (which is true). BUT we will do it differently. Obviously, there's a reason why everyone wants to see Kruger, and we'll do the same, we just won't take the typical tourist routes like everyone else. We will drive 500km through the national park from north to south, and we will camp along the way INSIDE Kruger! You'll get to see the Big Five, and we will have unforgettable experiences, I promise :)
4
Blyde River Canyon
Day 9-10
From Kruger, we will take a little detour and spend one night in Blyde River Canyon because that's something you just can't miss out on! We will do some hiking, and I'm sure we'll have a great picknick with a view as well. This is one of the largest canyons in the world and the largest forested canyon in Africa!
5
Eswatini
Day 10-12
After spending most of the trip surrounded by nature and wildlife, we will now make some more cultural experiences as well while heading towards Swaziland and discover the kingdom of Eswatini and the mountains close by.
6
Zululand District Municipality
Day 12-14
Last but not least we will explore Zululand and camp two nights in the region exploring KwaZulu Natal, the Elephant Coast, the Ghost Mountain and more! This is actually the part of the trip that I'm most looking forward to because I'm very excited about the cultural experiences and learnings we will have.
7
O.R. Tambo International Airport
Day 14
That's already the end of our trip. 14 days packed with adventures and stories! We will drive back to Johannesburg for everyone to catch their flights to be home in time for Christmas (or join me for Xmas in Cape Town, where I currently live). Can't wait for this trip to start!
