Like no other region of Mexico, Yucatan combines culture, history, nature, beach and sports. Therefore, I would like to put the focus of my trip also on this region in the northwest of Mexico. However, I will start in Mexico City, an exciting metropolis that is often underestimated and has much more to offer than one might think at first glance. It is one of the cities with the most museums in the world, including the Frida Kahlo Museum. There are also many parks and you can enjoy Mexican cuisine in numerous restaurants. But after that I would like to leave and experience and enjoy Yucatan. The great natural highlight here are of course the cenotes (holes in limestone), where you can marvel at an incredible underwater world. I would also not want to miss the peninsula of Bacalar, where I hope to spend a few quiet and peaceful hours. However, Isla Holbox would also be worth a discovery, which would hopefully also be possible in terms of time. However, you would have to spend a night there to really soak up the surroundings and take paradisiacal memories home with you. Getting there is also relatively simple and can even be organized from Chichen Itza- the famous ruins sites. I have also heard good things about Akumal in terms of diving, a nice alternative to Playa del Carmen where you can see sea turtles. One town I definitely want to spend a day or two at is Tulum. You know it from postcards and other vacation pictures from Mexico, this fantastically situated temple complex of Tulum, perched directly on a rock above the Caribbean Sea. Directly below is a snow-white beach that invites you to swim in the azure and bathtub-warm water. The city of Mérida seems through its colonial charm and the many colorful Huauserfassaden also extremely exciting and could certainly also be accommodated. As you can see, I am open for tips and wishes and I like to adapt my travel plan. This should first serve as a rough idea of the trip. If this has aroused your interest and you also have no desire to discover Mexico alone, I would be very happy about a message! Best regards, your little globetrotter Sari

Mexico City

Day 1-3
Let's start in Mexico City, an exciting metropolis that is often underestimated and has much more to offer than you might think at first glance. It is one of the cities with the most museums in the world, including the Frida Kahlo Museum. There are also many parks and you can enjoy Mexican cuisine in numerous restaurants.
2

Mérida

Day 3-5
Continue by plane from Mexico City to Mérida, the capital of the wonderful Yucatán region. Like no other region of Mexico, Yucatan combines culture, history, nature, beach and sports. Therefore, I would like to put the focus of my trip also on this region in the northwest of Mexico. The city of Mérida seems extremely exciting due to its colonial charm and the many colorful house facades. Here we experience the authentic Mexico and not the mass tourism. From here, one could already spend a day at the Pink lakes of Colorades and drive to Isla Holbox. However, you would have to spend a night there to really soak up the surroundings and take home paradisiacal memories. Getting there is also relatively simple and can even be organized from Chichen Itza- the famous ruins sites. However, these two highlights could also be organized at a later date from Cancún. Here I remain flexible and open for individual wishes.

Tulum

Day 5-12
Around the 12.6. we go then with the bus in the direction of the south. Numerous highlights await us here. One city I would definitely like to spend one or two days in is Tulum. You know it from postcards and other vacation pictures from Mexico, this fantastically located temple complex of Tulum, perched directly on a rock above the Caribbean Sea. Directly below is a snow-white beach that invites you to swim in the azure and bathtub-warm water. Besides Tulum, its Mayan ruins and the white sandy beaches themselves, the following awaits us: The great natural highlight here is of course the cenotes (holes in limestone), where you can marvel at an incredible underwater world. I also don't want to miss the peninsula Bacalar, where I hope to spend some quiet and peaceful hours. I have also heard a lot of good things about Akumal in terms of diving, a nice alternative to Playa del Carmen, where you can see sea turtles.
4

Cancún

Day 12-13
The last overnight stop would then be Cancún, because from here you can also fly cheaply back to Europe. Here, however, I would like to stay actually only one night, because it should be very touristy. Of course, one could include a stop at Playa del Carmen on the way from Tulum to Cancún, if this is desired. If you didn't take the chance to visit the Pink Lakes and Isla Holbox in Mérida, this would be the last chance to do so. In this case, however, 1-2 days more would have to be planned here. As you can see, I am open for tips and wishes and will gladly adapt my itinerary. This should first serve as a rough idea of the trip. If this has aroused your interest and you also have no desire to discover Mexico alone, I would be very happy about a message! Best regards, your little globetrotter Sari
