Island Life - Co-working on Maui

Coworking trip
Aloha. I'm Denise. I typically travel solo but want to offer an opportunity for others to escape the cold winter weather, pack your bag and work remotely on Maui in a warm tropical climate. (Note: I'm from Chicago and work during the Central time zone hours, but I can start my day working on a headset in my bedroom.) I traveled to Hawaii for the first time in 2020 and this will be my 4th trip to the islands and my 2nd trip to Maui. I love the island vibe and what better place to work remotely! We will meet on the north shore of Maui on the pacific coast, far away from the tourist resorts and the crowds. Maui is a true paradise. We'll stay in a private residence with ocean and jungle views from our living space. (I have an extra bedroom available that sleeps two. Ideally, this would accommodate a couple or two friends who don’t mind sharing a bed. Or a solo traveler.) Together, we can make plans to explore the island when we aren't working. A few activities for our consideration are as follows (extra costs based on selected activities): -Watch the sunrise or sunset at Haleakala Crater -Visit Ka‘anapali Beach (Lots of water activities such as surfing, snorkeling, diving, canoeing or fishing.) -Sailing and whale watching are popular this time of year -Onshore, waterfall hunters, and swimming hole seekers can travel the Road to Hana. -Shopping in Pai‘a, Makawao and Lahaina are the island’s best spots for gifts. And we can check out local restaurants! I have a car reserved for this trip and will include transportation to the activities we agree upon. Transportation is included in the trip cost; however, I will be the only person with permission to drive the vehicle. Depending on your arrival time, I may also be able to pick you up and/or drop you off by the airport. Airfare is not included in the trip cost.

Haiku

Day 1-14
This will be our home base where we will be staying for 14 days. We'll stay at a local home located on Maui's North Shore - far from the tourist hubs of the West and the Southside yet close to the island's most beautiful beaches and quaint towns. We will have stunning ocean and jungle views from the living room and lanai. It's a very quiet and tranquil spot down minutes away from Jaws, the world-famous surf spot. There is a caretaker on site (she lives in an apartment below the house). We will have access to ocean toys - kayaks, boards, and snorkeling gear.

Haleakala Crater

Day 14
We could plan a tour to Maui's highest point, Haleakala Crater, a dormant volcano measuring 10,000 feet above sea level. We could either see the sunrise or sunset from a spectacular viewpoint. We might also plan a hike, but dress warm as it's cooler in this area.
3

Road To Hana

Day 14
Optional tour we might book - road to Hana. The scenery that you see here is unparalleled. This picturesque Road especially the back road around the southeastern part of Haleakala mountain is a treat to Maui visitors. I found a small-Group Road to Hana Luxury Tour that we can schedule, if interested. It would depart at 7 am on either Saturday or Sunday and it would be a full-day excursion. (Price is ~$300 USD for each person and includes breakfast and lunch) Sample tour package below: Enjoy an ultimate tour with both breakfast in Paia and a 3-course luncheon served at Travaasa Hana Hotel, (*Vegetarian / Vegan / Gluten-free lunch entree available). Limo-Van Luxury with individual, soft European leather captain's chair for each guest. Pickup included Please dress comfortably, and wear good shoes for walking in the rainforest. Planning on swimming while on tour? Bring a towel. It's best to wear your swimsuit or, if you choose, there are places to change along the way. If you choose to wear sunscreen, please use Reef Safe sunscreen to help protect Maui's fragile environment. You might feel comfortable bringing a light jacket or sweater as well.
4

Kaanapali Beach

Day 14
Enjoy time at the famous Ka'anapali beach. One of the best beaches in Maui, a favorite for relaxation as well as water sports. Bring a towel and wear your swimsuit. If you choose to wear sunscreen, please use Reef Safe sunscreen to help protect Maui's fragile environment.
