Guided trip
Hello! My name is Annick I'm planning a 4-5 days hiking trip to Belle-Île-en-Mer, a lovely island, part of the French peninsula, Brittany (Bretagne). This trip would include: - 4 days of hiking - 3 nights camping (bivouac, aka, "wild camping" - 1 night in a campsite or hostel - the boat trip back and forth from Quibéron Also: - I can help you book your train from wherever you come from - I travel with a drone and go pro and will document our journey and share links fo you to access everything afterward. Not included: - Food, (even though I'm preparing everything so we know when and where we have the possibility to shop for food) - Restaurant (I found a lovely local restaurant that's on our way) Must-know: - The trip is considered suitable for an intermediate level but I think it is suitable for beginners as well. Each step is about 20km or less. The elevation is limited to a maximum 300m+ on the third day and less the others. - The island has its own micro-climate, so, if you've hear Brittany is rainy, fear not, for Belle-Île is quite stunning and sunny all year-round (gets about as much sun as Toulouse) - There are very few spots to collect water on our way, which means planning ahead to have enough water and recipient. - The first 3 days would be "wild camping", which is allowed under specific conditions only. Meaning, probably no hot showers until the last day. Be aware of that. The path will take us along the coast, which offers possibilities to enjoy the view from the cliff and places to go swimming. NB: The preview video is actually a quick compilation of videos I shot in the North of Brittany (near Saint-Malo) last October, so the weather was pretty cloud but the water still gorgeous. This is not Belle-Île

Trip Itinerary
1

Citadel Belle Île

Day 1
Let's meet in Quibéron. I will be there a day in advance so if that's the case for you as well, great, let's meet ahead of the boat trip and get acquainted! Furthermore, I advise you to arrive early enough since day 1 will be an 18km walk after 50mn of boat ride to Palais and a stop for grocery shopping in Sauzon.
2

Pointe des Poulains

Day 1-2
Let's meet in Quibéron. I can help you find a train/flight from Paris or anywhere else and help you book your night in Quiberon or nearby if need be. To recap: * Let's meet early in Quibéron (latest 10am) * Take a ferry to Palais * Start the hike * Pause in Sauzon (grocery shopping including the next day) * Stop and sleep near Pointe des Poulains

Port Coton

Day 2-3
On day 2 we will walk along the cliffs all the way to the "Needles" (cf picture) of Port Coton. It's important to plan ahead for food and water since this part of the island doesn't seem to have any shops. I've seen a Welcome area and a surf school so in the worst-case scenario, we'll be able to meet people and request water refills. In any case, the path is well traveled so there's no need to worry, just good planning!
4

Locmaria

Day 3-4
We will leave the main path to walk through the village of Bangor for lunch and try local food (crêperie). There are also shops to refill on water and such and we can be on our merry way =) On this stretch, we will encounter more beaches and enjoy a nice day at the beach. The walk will split between 8km to Bangor and 13km to our stop for the night near Locmaria.
5

Le Palais

Day 4-5
After spending the night on the southern part of the island, we will hike back up to Palais. We will pass by La Pointe du Skeul, and end up in Palais, near the harbor. There, we will stay for the night, since the last ferry departs at 5h45pm, and joy some rest. This last night will either be in a hostel or a campsite. Time for a warm shower, and some drinks!
6

Quiberon

Day 5
The last day! We will take the ferry back to Quiberon in the morning and can enjoy a farewell meal together or whatever works best for you. I can also help you plan your next step or to book tickets to somewhere else
