Trip Itinerary
1
Naples
Day 1
You will arrive at Naples Airport. A private driver will take you directly to the Amalfi Coast, where we will stay during the trip. There are also a few flights to the new Salerno Airport. If that is more convenient for you, I would be happy to arrange a pick-up in Salerno. The drive from Naples to Maiori takes around 50 minutes.
2
Maiori
Day 1-5
Maiori is a seaside town on the Amalfi Coast and will be our home base for the duration of this trip. Our accommodation is very central, and even better, it’s only 250 meters from the sea. In some years, I’ve gone for a swim as early as the beginning of April, so it’s possible we might even take a dip. On sunny days, we can definitely enjoy the beach and sunbathing. Maiori is one of the larger towns on the Amalfi Coast, so there’s a bit of nightlife. Lots of pizzerias, restaurants, and seaside cocktail bars, as well as many ice cream shops, stay open late into the night.
3
Path of the Lemons
Day 5
Upon arrival, we’ll walk along the Lemon Path, where you can taste locally made lemonade and see the hanging lemons. This is the perfect time to see them before harvest begins. The Lemon Path connects Maiori with Minori, and we’ll make a brief visit to the village of Minori. This is a short, 1-hour walk that will hopefully make you hungry for the dinner we’ll have in the BBQ area of our accommodation. (We can do vegan or gluten-free if you need)
4
Minori
Day 5
The Lemon Path connects Maiori to Minori, so we’ll see this village as well. One of the most famous patisseries on the Amalfi Coast is in Minori. Sal De Riso is a well-known pastry chef who created the Delizia al Limone, a classic dessert of the Amalfi Coast.
5
Amalfi
Day 5
We take a ferry to Amalfi, walk around the center, and visit the Cathedral. You will have free time to explore Amalfi. There are interesting museums, panoramic viewpoints, close by. Also local street food to try, and great ice cream. After, we walk up to the Ferriere Valley to visit the waterfalls.
6
La Valle delle Ferriere
Day 5
I absolutely love this hike. It’s not particularly difficult, and also very rewarding. We walk up from the center of Amalfi to the Valley of Mulini and continue deep into the lush valley. There are very interesting botanical species here, lots of gigantic ferns, water streams, and many waterfalls. Near the main waterfall, we’ll sit down for a picnic. There’s a small area inside the valley that requires an entry fee, and the ticket is included in your trip, but it’s subject to the park opening.
7
Pontone
Day 5
Pontone is one of the small "borghi" of the Amalfi Coast. It's directly above Amalfi. It’s part of Scala but feels like an independent small village. This is where the Ferriere walk path ends. Here, we can enjoy a fresh homemade lemonade at the bar and check out some interesting architecture, like ancient towers. From here, we can take a cab to Ravello,( or if we’re not tired yet, we can continue walking).
8
Ravello
Day 5
After completing the hike in the Ferriere Valley, we’ll visit the town of Ravello. You’ll have free time to explore its famous gardens: Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. If needed, we’ll assist with orientation. In the late afternoon, we’ll have a private transfer arranged for us back to Maiori.
9
Path of Gods
Day 5
The most well-known hike on the Amalfi Coast, and one with one of the most splendid panoramas. You can see the entire Penisola Sorrentina in front of you while walking, and Capri at the very end of it. You’ll also see Praiano and the Azure Sea below. We’ll definitely meet some goats along the way too!
10
Positano
Day 5
After the scenic hike along the Path of the Gods, we arrive in Positano. We’ll visit the center, the cathedral, and Spiaggia Grande. You’ll have free time to relax on the beach or go souvenir shopping. Later, we’ll take a ferry from Positano back to Maiori. Seeing Positano from the sea is one of the most breathtaking moments of any Amalfi Coast trip!
11
Naples
Day 5
We will have breakfast together every day, including on the day of departure. On the last morning, you will be transferred to Naples International Airport. Or, if you prefer, we can bring you to Salerno Airport or the Salerno train station.
