Guided trip
Saxon Switzerland (Germany) & Bohemian Switzerland (Czech Republic) national parks are a mystical wonderland. The surreal and majestic landscape invites you to hike through wild canyons framed by dramatic sandstone stacks, experience boat rides through deep ravines shaded by the woods and discover Europe’s largest natural rock gate that is straight out of a fairytale. This amazing landscape inspired none other than Mr. fairytale author Hans Christian Andersen who admired this beauty not once but twice. Highlight of this trip include: - Ridge Trail: The steep slope is well secured with a railing. Stairs and ladders help us get up high. From up there we have the ultimate view of Saxon Switzerland. - Schrammstein Viewpoint: The viewpoint offers a magnificent view over jagged rock formations, impressive table mountains and wide landscapes as far as the eye can see. On the other side of river Elbe, you see the fortress Königsstein, out of the forest rises the mighty Falkenstein. It is also a great spot for a picnic. - Gate of Schrammstein: The 'Schrammsteintor' is one of the most stunning rock formations in the entire national park. The deeply cut passage between the rocks is completely covered with sand and looks like a piece of desert and is a unique photo opportunity! Schmilka: This traditional village is often described as the most beautiful village in Saxony and also contains a cute local brewery as well. Pravcika Gate (Pravčická Brána): Largest natural rock gate in Europe and considered to be the most beautiful natural formation in Bohemian Switzerland as well as offering spectacular views. Edmundsklamm & Wilden Klamm: Known also as the Kamenice Gorges as they originated when the Kamenica River cut through the local sandstone with the rocks here rising up to 300 feet. Parts of this gorge are only accessible by boat in the warmer months, with the various rock formations, overhangs, tunnels and surrounding nature giving the place almost a magical touch. Imbiss am Prebischtor: Restaurant built between the rocks over 200 years back, making for an impressive backdrop. The trip price includes: - Shared Accommodation for One night in Hrensko (Czech) with Buffett breakfast included - Guiding & organizing fee - Guided hike to Schrammsteintor - Guided hike to Pravcika Gate - All Transportation during the trip (excludes train) - Boat ride with an expert story teller in Kamenice gorge - Entry to Pravcika Gate (Pravicka Brana) All group expenses will be managed using Splitwise, so please have the Splitwise app downloaded prior to your trip to make it easy to track & settle any group related expenses incurred during the trip. A bit about me, Maddy here, I am a Kiwi Indian living presently in Berlin having moved here in May last year with my partner from Sydney. Having lived in 5 countries & travelled to just under 40 countries covering 4 continents featuring numerous solo trips and creating new friendships along the way, I can say with a lot of assurance, you are going to have a great time on my trips. On my trips, I am looking to mix up Urban exploring with Nature hikes & trails to give a more complete travel experience. PS - For those coming from Berlin, please do reach out as I may be able to organize return train tickets to Berlin.

Day 1
We meet at Bad Schandau Hbf at 9:45am to have a quick round of introductions and then start our hike in Saxon Switzerland national park. Saxon Switzerland national park houses the impressive Schrammstein rocks and we would be having a picnic lunch (make sure to bring some food with you, as there are no shops in the national park) around 12:30pm in a place with views of the rock formation.

We hike in Bohemian Switzerland national park that also includes multiple boat rides to explore the Kamenice Gorges and finishing up at the impressive Pravcika Gate (largest natural rock gate in Europe) where we have a well deserved drink and bite to eat, before catching the back to Hrensko.
