Join me on a 14 day Caribbean adventure in San Juan, Puerto Rico, guided by me, Christine, your holistic trip guide. As a certified fitness and nutrition coach I will plan mindfulness activities, meals, and movement conducive to feeling healthy and rejuvenated each day during the work week. It is also my goal to stimulate your minds and inspire creativity and awe through the exploration of historical landmarks during our weekend outings. Together we will enjoy walking tours of iconic cafes, bars, monuments and plazas brimming with the complex fusion of Spanish, African, and Taíno cultures that is Puerto Rico.
About me! Hi there! My name is Christine and I am a personal trainer living in Santa Fe, New Mexico with my fiance Raven and our two cats Aruna and Feldspar. We love hiking, snowboarding, and soaking in the natural hot springs of our high desert home. My partner who is a native Puerto Rican has connected me deeply to his Caribbean island home and we have traveled there multiple times to visit his family and savor the culture. I have fallen in love with the language, the energy, and most importantly the food! As they say in Puerto Rico “el amor entra por la cocina” (love comes through the kitchen).
Details about the accommodation: We will be staying adjacent to the city of San Juan. I wanted this trip to feel like a retreat with convenience. Our house is beautiful with tropical trees and mountains surrounding us and plenty of room for coworking from multiple living rooms, patios and outdoor seating. And we are just 30 minutes from the city of San Juan with shopping, beaches, and so many historic sites to visit. If you have question you can let me know in the Q&A section!

Trip Itinerary
1
Bayamón
Day 1-2
Arrival: After landing in Luis Muñoz airport we will take a short car ride to our beautiful villa in Bayamón where we will experience the relaxing benefits of country living with the convenience of a big city.. We will be only 20 minutes from shopping, restaurants, and nightlife while also having beautiful mountain views, lush tropical greenery, and the soothing sounds of the coquí frogs chirping at night.
2
Condado
Day 2
Our first outing will be near ocean views and the tree lined shops and restaurants of Condado, Puerto Rico. The plan is to give us some time to get acclimated to the new time zone and environment by exposing ourselves to natural light as well as a hydrating spa experience. I will invite the group to gather our first night for a spa day at the “Cloud Spa” where we will soak in a salt water floating tank and enjoy the relaxing benefits of a wet sauna. We will have the option to book massages or to lay out a beach towel to relax on the white sands of Condado beach.
3
Bayamón
Day 2-7
We will get to work! Enjoy the quiet and space of our Bayamon villa. This week I will offer daily guided exercise classes. As a group we can choose a focus between strength, flexibility, and mindfulness and we can choose the perfect time for everyone to come together and take breaks between a busy remote work schedule. Enjoy being guided by me, your trip health and wellness expert.
4
Castillo San Felipe del Morro
Day 7
Weekend 1: After a week of remote work, I suggest putting on your walking shoes for our first weekend outing. The group will travel to arguably the most iconic Spanish structure built in the Americas. La Castillo San Felipe Del Morro was completed in 1790 and was historically placed at the furthest tip of Old San Juan to protect the once sought after harbor from attackers. Its well preserved walls make it a massive testament to the architectural genius behind its design from its 140 foot-high promontory facing the ocean to six levels of barracks and hallways. Currently this monument houses an extensive museum experience (they say you need at least two hours to truly experience the fortress in its magnitude). Once our midday adventure is complete we will walk towards the Cathedral to begin our Sunset Spoon tour. This three hour guided food tour will offer delicious traditional Puerto Rican cuisine that is completely locally sourced from mofongo to pernil to rellenos de papa. From savory to sweet this tour also features a couple of cocktails (or coffee) all in front of the gorgeous backdrop of neoclassical buildings and the feeling of the tropical ocean breeze.

Bayamón
Day 7-14
During our second remote work week I will provide coordinated Puerto Rican recipes. We will enjoy home made cuisine given to me by my Puerto Rican fiance. I will also offer advice on how to eat for optimal energy and nutrition. Enjoy the benefits of island life without having to think too hard about how to feel good, both inside and out!
6
La Fortaleza
Day 14
After our second week of remote work in our cozy, Caribbean villa, we will return to Old San Juan to go on “A Best Kept Secrets Tour” led by a brilliant architect and local who will explain and point out unusual details of San Juan that can be easily overlooked by the average tourist. We will take the path less traveled and have the opportunity to view underground cisterns, climb onto rooftops, discover secret towers, and lounge in private Spanish patios. Once we have seen as much as we can see, the group will be given the option to choose their adventure: -Enjoy a sunset Catamaron cruise in Old San Juan bay with gorgeous views of the sun setting plus complimentary cocktails. OR -Attend Salsa night at the famed La Factoria bar and experience a jovial night of live music.
