The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is a 6-day hike in the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal. It takes a moderate level of fitness to complete, and the max. the elevation is 3,210 meters. Pokhara is the closest main access city to begin treks into the Annapurna range. Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking gives a wonderful opportunity to witness the beauty of the Annapurna region within a short trek. At 3,210 meters, the Poon Hill sunrise along with the snowy rugged Annapurna Himalaya range in the background is worth every step. Hi, this is me John, based in Kathmandu, Nepal. I am a professional trekking and tour guide certified by Nepal Government. As a TripLeader, I am responsible for organizing and leading trekking and tour expeditions throughout Nepal. I work closely with my team to ensure that each trip is well-planned, safe, and tailored to meet the needs and preferences of my TripMates. Kathmandu

Day 1-2
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m) Today you are landing in the capital of Nepal- Kathmandu. One of our company representatives will meet you outside of the international airport. Will transfer you to your hotel. If you arrive earlier or in a daytime, you can explore the tourist hub- Thamel. Our team is ready to pick you at your scheduled flight time, whether it is day or midnight. Our company representative will brief you about your trip.

Pokhara

Day 2-3
Day 2: Drive to Pokhara Duration: 6-7 hours Early morning there will be your trekking guide to pick up you from your hotel. Will head to the tourist bus park and take a bus to Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the tourist destinations next to Kathmandu. Approximately it takes 7 hours to reach. On the way, you will pass through the beautiful small towns, rivers, terrace farming, and many more ever-standing landscape sceneries that will ever last to your memory. In the evening you can chill out at Lakeside, Pokhara. Have a short walk in Phewa Lake.

Tikhedhungga

Day 3-4
Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul; trek Tikhedhunga (1545m) After breakfast and hotel check out we will drive up to Nayapul to start our trek. On the way, we can see the mighty Machhapuchhre (fishtail) Moutain watching over us. Nayapul will be our gateway to reach the Annapurna Base Camp. After our lunch, we descend onto the Modi River and cross. Stone trails will lead us further up through beautiful forests and grassy valleys until we reach Tikhedunga our overnight destination of the day.

Ghode Pani

Day 4-5
Day 4: Tikhedhunga trek to Ghorepani (2855m) After breakfast, we begin our trek towards Ghorepani. Our first obstacle will be the 3200 stone steps towards Ulleri. Reaching Ulleri we can have a 1-hour break for lunch and we continue towards Ghorepani. The trail will ascend and descend at parts, the landscape changes from open farmlands to lush rainforest. Overnight stay at Ghorepani.

Tadapani

Day 5-6
Day 5: Visit Poon Hill (3193m) trek to Tadapani (2630m) We have an early rise at 4.20 am to climb up the famous Poon Hill for a stunning sunrise view of the Annapurnas. Reaching up on Poon Hill we can take many photos and congratulate ourselves for reaching the destination of our trek. After descending back down to Ghorepani for our breakfast we continue the trip towards Tadapani. We ascend upwards through beautiful rhododendron forests filled with the nature songs of many bird species. A downwards hike towards the valley and again up the mountain until we reach Tadapani our overnight stay of the day.

Ghandruk

Day 6-7
Day 6: Tadapani trek to Ghandruk (1940m) Today is an easy downwards hike towards Ghandruk. Following the trail through one of the biggest rhododendron forests the jungle scenery with the occasional monkey swinging in the trees. The trail consists mostly out of stone steps and forest paths until reaching the terraced village of Ghandruk home of the Gurung people. Overnight stay at Ghandruk.

Pothana

Day 7-8
Day 7: Ghandruk trek to Pothana (1900m) We enjoy the morning in Ghandruk and take some beautiful Annapurna pictures before heading downhill towards the river. Traversing many stone steps leading us further down can become tricky as it can be very slippery. After reaching the river we climb back up a hill until reaching the village of Landruk for our lunch break. From now it becomes harder as we have more uneven stone steps to ascend and descend. Feeling it in our legs we are happy to reach our overnight destination of the day; Pothana village.

Pokhara

Day 8-9
Day 8: Pothana trek to Dhampus Phedi and drive to Pokhara (820m) The last day of our trek today. Hiking downwards through beautiful forest trails we reach Dhampus a very nice village from where we can see our last panoramic views of the Annapurna range, continuing more downwards until reaching a place called Phedi, from here we take the local bus to Pokhara lakeside city for our overnight stay. Depending on what time we reach Pokhara we can participate in various activities such as boating on Phewa Lake, visiting the Davids Fall waterfalls, and the Gupteshwor Cave.

Kathmandu

Day 9-10
Day 9: Drive to Kathmandu Today we are heading off to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. Will check in to the hotel. Will drive around 7-8 hours from Pokhara to reach Kathmandu. Your guide will transfer you to the hotel.

Tribhuvan International Airport

Day 10-11
Day 10: Trip Conclude One of our company representatives will drop you at the airport. See you in next trip soon. Have a safe journey. This transfer is done by our private vehicle. Schedule at your departure time prior to three hours.
