Good morning, Good afternoon or Good evening! Depends on from where you are. I'm Max, a fanatical traveler from Belgium, Europe. While I'm organizing this trip, I'm already enjoying 3 months of the South-African sun together with my girlfriend, who will travel with me on this trip. After traveling through the most of Europe, we are up to a new challenge! America, and especially: The Antilles. 🤔 Why The Dominican Republic? 🤔 It's more than tropical beaches! The island has a diverse vegetation due to the large differences in altitude and diverse climate zones. This provides a great possibility for a lot of activities, there's also a lot of history and culture to explore. This combination gives us a perfect getaway in this paradise. 🌴 What to expect from this trip? 🌴 Not only Cuba is known for its cigars and rum, so is the Dominican. Ron Barcelo is the only Dominican rum produced with 100% sugarcane juice from it's own plantations. Besides that, it is the most exported dark rum in the world. Definitely worth to pay a visit. An interactive tour in the factory will teach us how the rum is made, and it's history. Followed by a private rum tasting of their most awarded rums! -> This trip will be combined with a visit to Santa Domingo, the capital of The Dominican Republic. Where the first cathedral, hospital, and university in America was settled. La Aurora, the leading cigar factory in the national Dominican market. In this tour we will be taught how a cigar is made from seed to packaging. It's the number 1 reason why people visit Santiago De Los Caballeros. Because of the cigar institute, cigar lounge and the renovated store where they sell their best cigars accompanied by their own rum. -> This trip will be combined with a visit to Puerto Plata. Its spectacular, sprawling landscape combines sea, mountains, lush valleys, rivers, and a multitude of beaches. Its fertile soil grows cacao and coffee trees, while underneath rests the world’s clearest gemstone: Amber. When you think of Antilles, you think about white beaches and crystal clear water.. A one day boat trip will take care of that. Snorkeling at 2 prime snorkel locations will show us how beautiful the water world is. Lunch will be included at Cayo Levantado, known for the Bacardi-Island! For the rest of the day are snacks and piña colada's the way to go. Samana - The best part 🏝 Palm-filled forests, isolated beaches, hidden caves, coconut plantations, and rainforests. Its rolling mountains and valleys form the crystalline rivers that feed into the Atlantic, as they cascade toward brilliant white sand beaches stretching hundreds of kilometers all around the peninsula’s rocky coastline. Approximately 2,500 humpback whales that visit Samana Bay every year appreciate this natural splendor. 🤩 There are a lot more activities we could consider like visiting the waterfall of El Limón, A festival in Santa Domingo, see the humpback whales and more! 🏠 Where do we sleep? 🏠 This one-month trip, we are staying in a modern villa with 3 bedrooms en bathrooms in Las Terrenas!!! (In Samana Peninsula) We have an indoor AND outdoor kitchen. Private swimming pool and outdoor area. A calm location, very close to the beach and the center. PERFECT! 💰 What's included? 💰 - Accommodation in a gorgeous villa with 3 bedrooms - Transportation - Visits to all places 🚙 Transport? 🚙 We have a Dacia Duster who will explore the country with us!

Trip Itinerary
1

Las Terrenas

Day 1-31
Our first stop, the accommodation for the month. Located on the northern coast of the Samana Peninsula, Las Terrenas offers miles of protected inshore waters and beautiful, undeveloped white-sand-beaches, lined with tall palm trees and pastel-colored fishing boats. 🏝 When we arrive, we will rent our Dacia Duster for the month, included in the price!
2

Santo Domingo

Day 31
-> This trip will be combined with a visit to Rum Barcelo! Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas and one of the most populous cities in the Caribbean. The city is a mix of old world charm and modern Latin flair. Its medieval palaces and fortresses mix with nightlife and shopping to rival any modern city in the world. You'll find pristine beaches and hidden gems like a salsa/merengue club set inside a huge underground cave.
