Ciao! I am very excited to share this special itinerary in Sicily with you ✨ If you'd like to explore Sicily through gastronomy and regenerated spaces, this is the place for you, so keep reading! Sicily has a lot to offer beyond the most popular destinations and landmarks; on this Trip we'll visit, taste and discover some hidden treasures of the Sicilian West coast. The time of the year is just perfect to enjoy some mild weather and a less touristy island. Most of all, we'll be off the most crowded tracks 🏞️ 🌍 Our itinerary (more details on activities and accommodations in the Trip Itinerary section down below): 📍 From Day 1 to Day 3 we'll be staying in Marsala, a town situated at the extreme western point of Sicily. Marsala (from the Arabic “Marsa Allah”, meaning “Port of God”) is known worldwide for its salt and wine productions, and above all its golden nectar that shaped the history of Sicily: Marsala wine! We will dedicate some time to both, with a wine tasting in a local winery and a walk along the gorgeous 'saline' (the salt ponds on the coast). We will not miss a stroll in the town center - a beautiful tangle of alleys with golden tuff architecture all around. 🏡 Our house at the sea will be the perfect spot to come back to and relax after these explorations. 📍 From Day 3 to Day 6 we will enjoy Mazara del Vallo, on the southwestern coast of Sicily. Mazara was founded by the Phoenicians in the 9th century BC, and due to the various domination all throughout its past history, the town is a fascinating melting pot of cultures, history, ethnicities and art of multiple origins. In Mazara we'll wander around its Arabic heart, the Kasba, to admire the beautiful tiles spread all around the walls and floors. On the following days, we'll get to explore some brilliantly regenerated spaces that have been brought back to life through recent cultural projects - the tuff quarries! We'll surely give some attention to the local wine production by visiting a winery that is located in the breathtaking WWF Reserve of Lago Preola e dei Gorghi Tondi and overlooks its beautiful lakes. 🏡 We will enjoy one final dinner in our spacious villa if we feel like it, before we say goodbye on the following day! These activities make a pretty packed and explorative Trip but there will be time for any other spontaneous adventure and some good chilling too 🌈 🟢 What's included: - Accommodation for 2 nights in Marsala (Airbnb) + 3 nights in Mazara del Vallo (Booking) - Car for the whole duration of the Trip (I have my own and will be your driver) - Transfer from and to the airports (closest airports are Palermo (PMO) and Trapani (TPS)) - 2 wine tastings with winery visit - 1 cheese tasting - Tickets and guided tour of 'Parco delle Cave' (the tuff quarry park) - 1 surprise experience - a small fee for me for coordinating the Trip 🔴 What's not included: Shared expenses such as groceries, fuel, meals out and any spontaneous visit. All of these extras will be shared on an App called Splitwise on the spot. Also note that in Sicily, paying with cash rather than card is very common - I will carry some for us all for shared expenses and highly suggest you withdraw a smaller amount too for personal expenses. 💌 About me & Expectations about the Trip: My name is Lucia, I am 26 years old and I am a cook, a farmer and a gastronome based in Sicily. I'm from northern Italy, but I've found my happy place on this sunny island, so I've recently moved from the UK, where I worked for 2 years, to here, and have been exploring ever since. I look forward to meeting the TripMates that will join me on this Trip. I hope to get some quality time together with amazing food and wine, shining a light on less frequented places and productions in Sicily. 🎈 I am looking for 3 open-minded and respectful TripMates to join me on this unique Trip. If you're ready to say 'amunì' (let's go in Sicilian dialect) do get in touch for any questions, and book your spot!🎈
