Join me on the best authentic spots and enjoy NYE with the Italian gastronomy like wine, meat and truffles in this case, but not only, as never before. I would like to awe the senses of 5 – 7 audacious globetrotters who want to experience the genuine Italian cuisine and the unspoiled natural beauties of the region. You are asking where is it? Well, not so far from Rome, the city of Perugia is in the lands and is well known also for medieval burgs, its castle, church, art and culture, but not last, food. We'll visit Rome during 2 days and travel in a comfortable van from Rome to Rieti and Perugia area in around 1h30 of driving time for each. We'll combine beautiful accommodations out on the hills, surrounded of breathtaking views, to beautiful trekking circuit, hunting truffle, wine tastings and relax in natural thermal of Roman age. And who am I? My name is Alessandro, and I'll be your Cicerone, driver, hiking partner, motivator, debating and sing along buddy adventure wingman, plus hopefully a good friend during and after the trip. I am born and raised in Italy where I travelled far and wide before to move in Belgium 11 years ago. With the sun and the country ever in my hearth, I am an enthusiast to make you discover this land. I'm also a qualified wine taster (sommelier) and wine tours are my speciality. My friends define me “an epicurean” as I always look for quality food. Sharing my beautiful country, and making meaningful connections whilst experiencing good tastings in genuine agritourism, is the main motivation behind offering this trip. I feel most alive on the road, meeting interesting individuals, having lively conversations and feeling the exhilarating drive of adventure. We commence on this trip as soon as 6 people are joining. I'm looking for outgoing and adventurous people who are not afraid to get pain after walking here and there and live for telling a good story at the end of it all. Couples are welcome, and we would book accommodations accordingly. 💰 What's included in the price? 🛖 All accommodations with local breakfast are included, will stay in first class b&b with characteristic rustic rooms along the hills. The visit of cultural and historical places, and a winery visit ending with a guided wine tasting is also included and in the scope of the experience. 🚙 All Transports are included in the Trip. 💰 What is not included? Restaurants and food/alcohol (except the wine tasting) are not included in the price. All other activities (like horse ride, yoga class, additional wine visits and tastings, …) can be arranged and are to be paid individually. We will eat in typical restaurants like trattoria or agro-tourism where I take the lead in organizing and planning. If all this has tickled your fancy, just contact me, and we can get to know each other over a video call, and I'll answer all your questions.

Rome

Day 1-3
Rome Unveiled walk tour in the Eternal City A city of magnificent beauty and splendid contradictions, Rome is simply unique. Here we'll see ancient remains, medieval streets, renaissance facades, baroque wonders and neoclassical squares, precious gems to be seen and treasured forever. This is your chance to really get to know the Eternal City with a special one day tour that is designed to cater for your personal curiosity, I am quite sure. Well-known attractions and iconic landmarks – such as Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon – will certainly be on the walk. In addition, I will customize the itinerary according to group needs and also in an attempt to unearth some of Rome's best hidden secrets and some of the most fascinating spots that you may have never imagined existed. This is the first one night stop, we'll stay in a Bed and breakfast close to city center and enjoy a dinner in a tipical trattoria.

Rieti

Day 3-5
Hunting for truffles Truffle hunting in Italy is a centuries-old tradition. And there’s a certain romance to it, a hunter and their dog, in communion with nature, walking amidst the ancient forests. But it’s also a lot of work, and that’s another reason that truffles cost so much! In addition to a license, a truffle hunter’s greatest asset is probably patience. They train their dogs for years. They’re often up at dawn, no matter the weather. Anyone who’s ever taken part in a truffle hunt will tell you that finding these tasty nuggets of culinary gold is an exhilarating experience — not unlike reeling in a really big fish. Hiding in the dirt, tangled between the tree roots, truffles can put up a bit of a fight before they are extracted. The hunter must delicately remove them without damaging the surrounding roots, soil and flora. In this way, truffle hunters perform a dual function: protecting the truffle’s environment while closely guarding their secret collection spots. We'll have the chance to walk in the forest with them (the hunter and the dogs) and maybe find somes. For sure, we'll end the experience with a lunch in the property, with truffles.

Perugia

Day 5-7
Perugia has an ancient food and wine tradition. It’s a city of good food! You will find charming botteghe (small food shops) with all the delicious Umbrian foods, including cured meats, cheese, extra virgin olive oil and excellent wines from the best local wineries. Many great restaurants serve local specialties prepared with genuine products and ancient recipes. Perugia has a rich pre-dinner and post-dinner scene with wine bars, craft beer pubs, and artisan cocktail bars. We will take a tour in the Castle and walk in the medieval streets of the village. Castle of Antognolla, on the north slopes of Monte Tezio, owns its name to one of the most ancient and noblest family from Perugia, the Antognolla or Antognolli, who lived in Porta Santa Susanna district since the XII Century. The date when the Castle was built is not exactly certain; the first written notation on it date back to 1174, when the existence of a monastery dedicated to St Peter is reported, monastery of which only a crypt dedicated to St Agata remains.

Rome Fiumicino Airport Terminal 3

Day 7
Back to the airport As all nice things come to an end, this will be the time to say goodbye to each other and give appointment for the next trip maybe together again. We will drive back from Perugia to Rome international airport of Fiumicino. If you may need to leave from Ciampino, there is connection by bus between the two airports.
