Trip Itinerary
1
Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia
Day 1
So, it's the beginning of the trip... you'll most likely land on the city's airport, aka "Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia". We'll meet up there and then go leave your stuff on the hotel that you'll be staying at. You can either go with a taxi, with the bus (or with your own car if you have one there or in any other means you find). • I'll help you with anything that might be needed, don't worry about anything!
2
Aristotelous Square
Day 1
We will walk on the well-known 'Paralia' (Παραλία) together, aka the port's pedestrian route that is a couple of kilometers long, seeing the sea from one side and the city from the other... In-between there are some great stores, parks and other culture-related things, like the White Tower... We could rent bikes or have a drink at a boat that circles the port (the view is great from the sea!) Up until reaching the Aristotelous square, with great places to chill, eat and "χάζεμα" (checking around)
3
Ladadika
Day 1
In Ladadika (some people call it Louloudadika which means something like "flower-stuff", it's funny), this area is full of bars, coffee shops and other landmarks that may surprise you on each corner! A night drink around there will probably be on the to-do-list :)
4
Monastiriou
Day 1-2
Going to the hotels, sleeping until the next day comes (?probably?) There are many hotels in Monastiriou street, but there are many places with places to rent around here, (I'm just suggesting this area because I'm more familiar with it personally)
5
Menemeni
Day 2
It's an optional place we could go for you to check out probably the most left-out-to-decay area of the city, I'm leaving it here on the timeline like on the morning after getting out of the hotel whoever is interested... Could take some pretty interesting pictures but always with caution.
6
One Salonica Outlet Mall
Day 2
(Along with the stop below, we may decide the timeline of the day together, I placed the areas so as to be a continuous route) Formerly known as 'City Gate', One Salonica is like the shopping center of west Thessaloniki
7
Agias Sofias
Day 2
Check-out one of the most well-known Orthodox churches in Thessaloniki's history, Agia Sofia, Αγία Σοφία!!! Next to it, there's a route with shops, benches and fountains to wander in and chill around.
8
Arch of Galerius
Day 2-3
Visiting some more historical landmarks just few blocks away from Agia Sofia, Arch of Galerious, Αψίδα του Γαλερίου, a construction made some thousands of years ago, a Byzantine monument next to Rotunda, Ροτόντα, which is a former church that now works as a museum of some sort, I uploaded a photo when I had once entered Rotunda but my photo skills are amateurish... There´s a whole street on this area that is daily full of life, taking a walk there would definitely be on the list!
9
Thessaloniki International Trade Fair- Exhibition
Day 3
Museum day! Around this area there are the most 'important' museums, meaning the ones that are the most well-known around here (the White Tower museum, Museum of contemporary art, Byzantine museum, Archaeological museum, War museum, Radio museum, Olympic museum)... We will explore as many as we like! At this fare there is also the OTE tower, where the floor is moving (sometimes) and there's a great view of the city!
10
Ano Poli
Day 3-4
Rest not, why not see the entire city from Ano Poli, Άνω Πόλη; This area is in higher altitude and the view is awesome, along with places to eat & drink, we could relax there until the next and last day of the trip. (Going back to the hotels)
11
Heptapyrgion of Thessalonica
Day 4
Most likely, we won't make it till Monday... The museums are too many! So I'm leaving the Eptapyrgio's tour for Monday on the schedule, as its current open hours are 8:30-15:30, daily. We could go there for a couple of hours in the morning.
12
Kalamaria Municipality
Day 4
It's an optional place to visit, the municipality's harbor with all the boats and the trees all around compile a great scenery, along with a stop to any coffee shop or a place to eat that has a view of the sea. (After this time we'll probably return to the hotels for checking out and prepare to the last destination before the airport)
13
Mediterranean Cosmos
Day 4
That's the biggest shopping center in the entire city! This mall has a lot of shops, food, a cinema, it also hosts events form time to time... There are many other stores around and I'd suggest visiting the 'Go Kart Center' a few minutes away for a fun ride!
