Trip Itinerary
1
Honolulu
Day 1-2
DAY 1: Settling in our home base. A walk away from the beach, allocating our initial time to restore and relax. We will plan to do quite some adventuring throughout our days on the island, so this period has great potential to support our energy levels.
2
Waikiki
Day 2-3
DAY 2: We can spend day two living slowly to grow acclimated with the new environment and time, hopefully rejuvenating our bodies to enjoy the week ahead. What this usually looks like for me is rest and exploring my food palette. But it could look differently for you :) There is much good food in downtown Honolulu and Waikiki! Later on in the day, I'll share with you one of my favorite spots I'd drive the moped for sunset when I lived here in 2021 and 2022.
3
Lanikai Pillbox
Day 3-4
DAY 3: Waking around 4:30am, we start the day with a sunrise climb in Kailua - a destination known with one of the most pristine beaches on the island. This hike is relatively easy and absolutely worth it. It can get a little crowded, but sunrise time creates more opportunity for solitude. Let's hang out at the beach after! Later we'll head back to Honolulu.
4
Mokuleia
Day 4-5
DAY 4: About an hour away, one of the most spacious and quiet beaches. The few times I've been here, there hasn't really been anyone else. It is a sweet spot to feel more present with each other, ourselves and the island. On the way, we can visit a sweet café in the area! They have the best breakfast sandwich! Either way, it would be lovely to make or bring our own picnic here and listen to music while sunning all day. Later we'll head back to Honolulu.
5
Sandy Beach
Day 5
DAY 5: Sandy Beach is a spot with light blue, shore breaking waves. A lot of opportunity to body surf and meet new people. On the way here, I'll take you to an outdoor café on the water, where we can enjoy views of Koko Head mountain and pretty birds. Following, I'll also show you a cave that leads to a spot not a lot of people know about.
6
Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse Trail
Day 5-6
Second part of DAY 5: A relatively easy, yet angled walk up to a lighthouse and a view, there is an adventurous off-trail path that leads to clear tide pools of colorful fish. We can stay there for a little while before heading back or somewhere for dinner. This is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset!
7
Crouching Lion
Day 6-7
DAY 6: In my opinion, the most incredible and satisfying hike on the island. Incredible views of Ka'a'awa Beach Park, this hike genuinely feels like we're on top of another unique planet. It can be quite strenuous depending on your hiking experience, I'd keep that in mind. Depending on if they are open that day, I will take us to the best spot to get a Lilikoi butter smoothie bowl for a yummy reward!
8
Waikiki
Day 7
DAY 7: A day to dive further in cuisine. Lets food hop! I'll show you all the good eats I've experienced downtown in my 12 months living on the island. From the sweetest charcoal pancakes to the thickest Udon noodles! A good place to walk around and connect with each other before we end the trip.
9
Waianae
Day 7-8
Second part of DAY 7: On the west side is the best place to experience sunset, as it fades to vibrant color below the horizon right in front of you. A beautiful place to wrap up our time together. You have the mountain at your back and the ocean to your feet.
