About me: Hello, fellow travelers and adventure-seekers! Having lived and worked in this diverse and vibrant city for the past three years, I'm so excited to share Dubai with you. I work in IT here, but my true passions lie in traveling and experiencing new cultures. Over the years, I've had the privilege of exploring this city's historic gems, savoring its diverse culinary scene, and meeting people from all over the world. My goal for this trip is to not only introduce you to Dubai's iconic landmarks and experiences, but also to provide insights into the local culture and community. Dubai is only 50 years old and has grown exponentially in that time. Even though I currently live here and have an office here, I crave a change of scenery and love working in different environments around different people, and I love learning about what other areas people are working in. I'm excited about a change of scenery in a beautiful sea view apartment right along the water at JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence). We're within seconds of tons of bars, restaurants, and shops and there is a tram nearby that connects to the metro. We'll have plenty of nice evening dinners and go see the different parts of the city, as well as some fun weekend activities! We can work out the details together once we figure out everyone's work schedules ☺️

Al Fattan Tower

Day 1-9

Arrive at Dubai airport and transfer to the hotel by taxi, check-in, refresh, meet and greet. 📍Al Fattan Tower, JBR We'll kick off our first evening strolling along the JBR boardwalk, exploring all the restaurants, bars, shops and finding a place to have dinner right by the water. We won't have to go far as our hotel is right in the middle of JBR! 📍 Jumeirah Beach Residence Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is a bustling waterfront district in Dubai, known for its stunning beach, vibrant promenade, and a plethora of dining and shopping options.

Dubai Gold Souk

Day 9

Sunday! We'll venture out from JBR and head all the way to 📍Bur Dubai (the Old Town). We'll wander around the Gold and Spice souks, where you can buy some delicious smelling spices or some of the best priced gold items. We'll head down to Dubai Creek and take a traditional style abra across the water. Whenever the hunger sets in, we'll stop for lunch at Ravi, a renowned local restaurant serving delicious Pakistani and North Indian cuisine.

Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding

Day 9

Monday! Our first working day 💻 We can cook breakfast together in the apartment or head to one of the nearby coffee shops to grab a bite and a coffee ☕ We'll work during the day and can also decide whether to cook lunch together or grab a bite from a nearby restaurant. In the evening, we'll start the week with some cultural insights into the UAE, Emirati, and Bedouin heritage at the 📍Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding. We'll enjoy a variety of flavorful dishes while learning about the culture, customs, and warm hospitality that define Emirati heritage. It's a really unique opportunity to taste the heart of Emirati cuisine and connect with the local culture in a welcoming setting that welcomes questions.

The Dubai Fountain

Day 9

Tuesday! Same plan during the day - we'll do breakfast and lunch around the apartment and work work work work work 🎶 In the evening, we'll head to the 📍Dubai Fountains at the Dubai Mall! We'll get dinner at Dubai's TimeOut Market - a large food hall with countless options of all different types of cuisine. There's something for everyone! From the balcony of TimeOut we'll be able to enjoy the stunning fountain show - a captivating display of dancing water, lights, and music in front of the world's tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa. The Burj even takes part in the show itself with a light show directly on the side. Those who want to can even hop on a boat for one of the shows (they run every 30 minutes) and get a unique view from the water.

Dubai Marina

Day 9

Wednesday - hump day! 🐪 Work plan is pretty much the same :) In the evening, we'll head to the nearby 📍Dubai Marina! We'll grab dinner at one of the restaurants on the multi-level Pier 7 that overlooks the Marina where you can take in the lights, the water, and the evening air. We can wander around the Marina Walk and take in the evening.

Global village

Day 9

Thursday - believe it or not, we will yet again be working during the day. In the evening, we'll head over to Dubai's vibrant and lively 📍Global Village! Global Village is a diverse and immersive multicultural market and entertainment destination. It features pavilions representing more than 75 countries, each showcasing their culture, traditions, and products. Visitors can explore a wide range of attractions, including international cuisine, shopping, live performances, and cultural exhibitions. It's a place where the world comes together, allowing you to explore different cultures without leaving Dubai.

Desert Safari

Day 9

Friday - final work day woohoo! We'll wrap up work a bit early and head out for a desert safari between 2 and 4 pm. We'll embark on a 60-minute nature safari in either a Land Rover or Camel Caravan (our choice!). We'll watch a sunset falcon show as the sun dips behind the sand dunes. We'll then arrive at a Bedouin camp and enjoy live bread making, coffee making, camel rides, and indulge in a four-course traditional dinner. During dinner, we'll partake in interactive Emirati performances like drumming and Yola.

Kite Beach

Day 9

Saturday - finally work free! We'll take advantage of the beautiful February weather and trade out one beach for another! We'll head to the beautiful 📍 Kite beach - Dubai's favorite beach for all sorts of water sports! You'll have the option to wind surf, kite surf, paddle board, jet ski, or just enjoy some relaxation on the beach. 🏖️ There are lots of food options around Kite Beach, so we'll plan to have lunch here as well. In the evening, we'll clean up and head to Lucky Voice for a classic pastime - karaoke!🎤 Lucky Voice features private karaoke rooms with state-of-the-art equipment and an extensive song library to choose from, so you can scream sing to your heart's content (now that we all know each other well enough 😆)! If karaoke does not sound like your jam, no worries! There's lots of other nightlife around Dubai, and we can decide as a group - this is just a personal favorite ☺️

Dubai International Airport

Day 9

Sunday - huuuuge sad, but all good things come to an end. Everyone will likely have various flight times, and we can grab cabs for everyone to head back to the airport. Those that have later flights - we can grab lunch, hang out at the beach, or do anything else you want in Dubai before heading out with a head full of memories and a nice sun-kissed glow 🤩
