Guided trip
Ready for MAUI? Hi, my name is Richard! With our clear waters, abundant fish, and colorful corals, Maui is the ideal place to scuba dive. Maui’s reefs are not only breathtaking, but they are easily accessible for beginner scuba divers and the perfect place to learn to dive year-round. We will be entering the water from the shore is easy at most of our sites, and you’ll have plenty of beautiful shallow reefs to admire as you practice skills and build your confidence as a diver. With Dive Maui, you will dive at 2-3 different sites along the Maui shore while completing your Open Water Course. The team of PADI professionals are compassionate and experienced diving instructors who love to share their love of diving. Small groups allow us to tailor the pace and structure of the course to your needs. They take the time to make sure you understand all the course material, and we spend more time on our dives to build your comfort level and make you a respectful and safe diver. IMPORTANT BEFORE THE TRIP! *PADI Medical form: Prior to your dive, you will need to complete the PADI medical form. Answering “yes” on the form will require you to see a physician before scuba diving. Normally, we schedule certification classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, but we might need to be flexible because of weather conditions. Please keep this in mind. Maui is always about being relaxed and going with the flow. *The schedule will be need to flexible due to weather conditions *There are many Hotels to choose from cost and location are important, but we can work with you to make sure your time on Maui is fun and meets your requirements. Besides diving, will have several other entertainment options (These are an additional cost): - Kaanapali Beach Luau (At The Sheraton Maui) - Hiking Haleakalā or the East Maui Volcano (This is a day trip) - Hula Pie at Kimo's - Snorkeling with the turtles: Turtles Town is Normally the best place to see lots of turtles. However, depending on the weather, we will pick the best place for the conditions. - More Maui Diving! We can pick from Multiple Dives, we can select from a two Tank Lanai Cathedral dive, Molokini, (this is a sunken crater) or one of the Shipwreck dives. Requirements to join the diving class: The minimum age is 10, and there is a medical form. It is all explained at www.goscubadivemaui.com under dive courses. Students must complete all online theories before arriving at the shop. Along with the skills and dives there is a swim test. Transportation will be an additional cost, depending on your personal requirements. I recommend renting a car. The other activities will be optional to save money, and you can select what most interests you. Making your Maui experience the best it can be. That's why I'm here to make sure the money you spend is well spent. Maui is expensive, and I don't want you to waste your time or overpay for your adventures on the beautiful island of Maui.

About myself: I enjoy traveling, in learning about new cultures. I'm a certified open-water diver since 1995 and have dived in Maui multiple times including Mexico, Jamaica, and Grand Caymans. I'm also a private pilot, aspiring to be a commercial pilot very soon.

About the Accommodation: Hotel rooms and accommodations can be a very fluid situation in Lahaina to Kaanapali Beach right now are looking at the Royal Lahaina Resort which has plenty of rooms available. Rooms range between $239 a night for a studio room up to $1140 per night for a two-bedroom oceanfront suite, dependent upon your requirements of course. But don't worry, I will always find accommodation for you. And we will work with you to meet your price requirements. We can keep you busy every day, or you might want a few days to just hang out at the pool. We are here to have fun, learn and see something new and live Maui style for 8 days. (Maui style is no worries, bro) Looking forward to exploring Maui with you and going diving! Let me know in the Q&A section if anything is not clear or have more ideas to add to the trip!

Kaanapali

Day 1-3
Overview of Kaanapali Beach Ka'anapali Beach includes soft, golden sand and gorgeous water. Along this stretch of coast, you find many hotels flanking the beach. Ka'anapali Beach harbors endless opportunities for water sports lovers. Black Rock slices across the beach and is a popular spot for snorkelers and scuba divers to earn their certification. Other options for water play include parasailing, windsurfing, and jet skis. Head to Black Rock, at the north end of the beach, for a boat tour of the marine life in this area. Plus, visit the booths on Kaanapali Beach, where you can sign up for snorkeling, boat excursions, kayaking, sailing, the Sheraton Luau, surfing lessons, and water equipment rentals.
2

Lahaina

Day 3-4
Front Street shopping, oceanfront restaurants, and stunning mountain scenery are just a few of the reasons to visit this seaside town. Lahaina is historically significant to the Kingdom of Hawaii, as it was the capital for 25 years in the 19th century. When you visit the island, you will want to spend time on the beach, surfing, and shopping.
3

Kimo's Maui

Day 4
After completing your open water course and receiving your certificate of completion they'll only be one place to celebrate Kimo's for Hula pie Because there’s Only One Hula Pie. It all started at Kimo’s, on Maui. Long ago the Kimo’s Original Hula Pie® recipe was created and coined as, “What the sailors swam ashore for in Old Lahaina Town.” From there, it was history — our famous Hula Pie has been surprising even the most adventurous of dessert eaters ever since. WHAT HULA PIE IS MADE OF: Hula Pie is made with our favorite macadamia nut ice cream stacked high on a scrumptious chocolate cookie crust. A layer of cool chocolate fudge sits atop the ice cream, giving form to this delight. Whipped cream dances at its base before decadent, hot chocolate fudge is poured over the top and drizzles to each side. Finally, more toasted macadamia nuts fall and cling to the hot fudge, bringing together everything your taste buds need for a vacation.

Maui Nui Luau

Day 4-5
At this oceanfront, Kaanapali luau, feel the rhythmic beat of the drums as the sun sinks low in the sky, and experience the magic of Polynesian dance as tiki torches flicker in the night. Here at one of Maui’s best luaus, smell the fragrant tropical lei you’re given upon arrival. This Kaanapali sunset luau is full of exotic dances, as well as a filling, flavorful all-you-can-eat buffet featuring traditional Hawaiian cooking. Enjoy a delicious self-service buffet with a gorgeous sunset Lei greeting and imu ceremony Polynesian dance show Different dances from across the Polynesian world Witness the Cliff Diver at Black Rock (weather and ocean conditions permitting)
5

Haleakalā National Park

Day 5-6
Haleakalā National Park Maui What: A scenic national park known as the “house of the sun” Where: Upcountry Maui to the southeastern coast Towering over the island of Maui and visible from just about any point, Haleakalā Crater is a force of nature in every sense. At 10,023 feet above sea level, this dormant volcano is the stage for a breathtaking range of landscapes—and skyscapes. Haleakalā means "house of the sun" in Hawaiian, and legend goes that the demigod Maui lassoed the sun from its journey across the sky as he stood on the volcano’s summit, slowing its descent to make the day last longer. Many visitors wake up early to drive to the Haleakalā Visitor Center, the best spot to watch what may be the most spectacular sunrise on earth. As the sun peeks over the horizon, an ever-changing swirl of color and light dance across the vast sea of clouds—a sight described by Mark Twain as “the most sublime spectacle I have ever witnessed.” Perhaps just as impressive are Haleakalā’s sunsets and the bright, starry skies revealed at night. Remember, the National Park Service now requires a reservation for personal and rental vehicles to view the sunrise from the summit district. Your reservation is for parking at the summit and doesn’t include the required national Park entry fee. Drive times from Kāʻanapali and Wailea to reach the summit average 2 hours.

Whalers Village

Day 6
Shopping in Lahaina For a unique Maui shopping experience, plan a visit to the island's premier oceanfront retail center, Whalers Village. You’ll find yourself surrounded by the best brands and one-of-a-kind specialty retailers. A wide variety of food offerings ranging from fast food to full-service oceanfront restaurants makes Whalers Village the preferred Maui shopping, dining, and entertainment destination on the island.
7

Black Rock Beach

Day 6-7
Snorkeling with the Turtles We will have a few options where to find turtles, I have listed some popular locations: Kaanapali Beach's Puu Kekaa (Black Rock) – (West Maui), The point between Napili Bay and Honokeana Cove (West Maui), Kapalua Bay (West Maui), Honolua Bay (West Maui).

Maui

Day 7
You now have your open water rating so we can take a more adventurous dive. I have listed a few different dives. We can decide as a group or we can split up. The Molokini Crater Dive Molokini Crater is a marine protected area. The coral reef is healthy, and fish are abundant! Approximately 250 different marine species live inside the crater. We have opportunities to see things not typically found off the shores of Maui. Large schools of Pennant and Pyramid Butterfly Fish live here year-round. There is also the rare and endemic Freckled Snake Eel, which we only find while diving inside of the crater. You may see the giant Blue Fin Trevally make their way into the crater looking for their next meal. Ask our dive guides if you can meet Skeeter the Yellow Tail Wrasse, if you’re lucky he may come by and say Aloha! The Cathedrals of Lanai The Cathedrals of Lanai are the two most famous diving sites in Maui County. The Cathedrals were formed by lava tubes that have created beautiful underwater “rooms” with natural light coming from all around. There are two dive sites with the name Cathedrals on Lanai, which have been cleverly named First Cathedral and Second Cathedral. These dives will have overhead environments, areas with temporary darkness and smaller confined spaces. We recommend bringing an underwater flashlight, but it is not required. This is not cave diving or cavern diving because there are multiple entrances and exits at all times. Please be sure that you are comfortable with these types of conditions before signing up! A Sunken Pier, Rich Marine Life Turtle Reef is our best charter for new divers or anyone who hasn’t had a chance to go diving in a while. On this trip we will stay on the West Side of Maui so it will be a shorter boat ride to and from Lahaina Harbor. Turtle Dive Turtle Reef is your best opportunity to dive with turtles while in Maui. Just because it has the easiest dive conditions does not, by any means, make it a boring dive. We see more turtles on this dive than any of our other charters. There is also a good chance you will get to see some White Tip Reef sharks,
