A unique trip to explore Chengdu, a city that has over 4000 years history. There’re numerous street foods, hotpot and the most important - Panda. Chengdu is the provincial capital of Sichuan, which is the origin home of pandas. There is a panda research center inside the city where you can see baby pandas. This trip will take you explore the city like a local Chengdu people, to experience their daily life too.

About me! This is Rui. I was studying in the States and working in Singapore for many years before returning to China. I have been to many cities in the States and also been to varies countries like Japan, Korea, France, Germany, Czech, Spain, Malaysia, Thai, Indonesia, Cambodia, etc. I am an experienced travelled and would like to make other people travel experience better. My most favorite way to explore a place is to experience what local people would do instead of just visiting scenic spots. Hope you would enjoy the trip with me.

Details about the accommodation: We’re planned to stay at a hotel near city center with standard room (2 in a room), including breakfast. We’ll go to most places via the special tour bus that Chengdu has. But we’ll going on a one day trip out of the city to see the big Buddha, which we need to take high speed train for around 1 hour. But we’ll come back at the end of the day, so there’s no change of hotel. Do you have any questions about the trip? Chunxi Road

Day 1-2

Day1: Arrive and relax We’ll go to the most famous modern commercial street which is built on top of a historical site. This place has been the city center for thousand of years. We can also see the panda installation on top of a roof garden.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Day 2-3

Day 2: Real panda tour We’ll visit the panda research base in the morning where we can see adult panda, baby panda and red panda. We’ll visit Kuanzhai Alley in the afternoon and have an authentic hot pot dinner.

Leshan Giant Buddha

Day 3-4

Day 3: Giant Buddha A day out of Chengdu to see the Giant Buddha in Leshan, which was built 1200 years ago. Leshan is also famous for the street food. We can have deep fried chuanchuan or other tasty local food which is all around the city.

Jinsha Site Museum

Day 4-5

Day 4: Get to know the city history We’ll visit Jinsha Site which is an archeology site from around 3000 years ago. We can see the ancient Shu culture which is the origin of Chengdu city. It also has the original piece of gold sunbird piece which is used for the logo of 2023 FISU world university game.

Wenshu Yuan Monastery

Day 5

Day 5: Relax and have a nice local day We’ll visit a famous temple in the middle of the city where people have tea and chat along the day. It’s also an area where you can see the Sichuan opera and lots of intangible cultural heritages.
