Trip Itinerary
1
Colombo
Day 1-4
Arriving in Colombo, we'll be checking in our villa to freshen up. Afterward, head out for lunch/ dinner and explore the local street food to sample the curries and other staples. Beira Lake is the perfect spot for sunset or to go boating. We can also Visit the majestic Gangaramaya temple and soak in all the spirituality of the Buddhists.
2
Habarana
Day 4-5
the next stop would be the ancient city of Sigiriya, located over 200 kilometers from Colombo, is the next stop. We will arrive the night before, and since we will have the entire day in Dambulla, we will begin by climbing the Sigiriya rock, which will take approximately 2.5 hours if you maintain a steady pace. The rocks along the steps that lead to the summit of the rock are covered in murals and paintings from many ages; trust me, the trek will not tire you. The view on atop the cliff is amazing, and every sweaty step will be well worth it.
3
Kandy
Day 5-8
We will be staying in Galle for the remainder of the trip and exploring the surrounding areas such as Nuwara Eliya Delicious seafood is the talk of the town on Sri Lanka's southern coast. Due to the abundance of raw fish in these locations, there are many options to pick from. The historic Galle Dutch Fort, the Galle Fort Clock Tower, and the Galle Sea Turtle Hatchery are all worth visiting.

Nuwara Eliya
Day 8
No matter how short one week in Sri Lanka might seem, if you want to get a real feeling for the country, you must pay a visit to its cultural capital. Kandy is dotted with significant sights, and without a surprise, it made it on the UNESCO list, too. If you love nature, you shouldn’t miss the Royal Botanical Garden located in Peradeniya, just four kilometers away from Kandy. Although significantly modified by the British, the garden dates back to the era of the ancient kings. The botanical gardens cover an area of 59 hectares, so it is possible to spend a whole day there, perhaps accidentally walking the same path twice like I did 🙂 If your time is limited, try to visit the orchid house and the suspension bridge, which are some of the highlights, before heading back to town.
