This is a monumental building designed by chief architect Anca Petrescu in 1986 when she was only 27 years old. It took 13 years to build the palace of the Parliament, although it's still not completed. Construction ceased after the fall of Communism in 1989. The monastery is a 14th century stone building beautifully decorated in colourful motifs from Orthodox Christianity.
