Trip Itinerary

Finestrat
Day 1-2
We will be based in Finestrat. Upon arrival, you will meet your TripMates in the accommodation, and we start the trip with a nice dinner at our accommodation overlooking the village. The next morning we will start our journey up the 5 most impressive peaks in the area. Exciting!
2
Sierra de Bernia
Day 2-3
Walking around the Sierra de Bernia is a must-do for all keen mountain walkers who are visiting the Costa Blanca. The Sierra de Bernia is a superb ridge that dissects the coastline from the sea to the inland town of Callosa d’en Sarrià. This route circulates this dramatic ridge and includes sights of an ancient 16th century ruined fort and cut through a natural tunnel “El Forat” through the base of the ridge. We will as well conquer its Western summit. During the day you’ll get a brilliant first impression of Costa Blanca’s diverse landscapes – from beautiful beaches, to soaring cliffs, to green and fertile valleys interrupted by craggy “Sierras”.
3
El Pla de la Casa
Day 3-4
The "Pla de la Casa" is the highest peak in the Serella mountain range, with 1.379 meters. During the walk, we visit “Africa” and the impressive limestone towers of "Els Flares". To finish the walk, we stop at the "El Perolet" to sample some homemade marmalade and vinegars.
4
Cabeçó d'Or
Day 4-5
This dramatic Sierra, with soring cliffs and pine forests, runs from north to south with a summit towering the village of Busot at 1209 m. The walk offers excellent views of the Alicante-Villajoyosa-Benidorm coastline, and upon reaching the summit you’ll be rewarded with an exceptional panoramic view of Costa Blanca’s beautiful countryside. Towards the end of the walk, there is the opportunity to visit the Caves of Canelobre, a bizarrely formed geological gem with exquisite limestone stalagtite and stalagtite formations. You can opt for a guided tour or attend a concert in summer due to the wonderful acoustics.
5
Aitana
Day 5-6
The trail starts on the north side of the Sierra Aitana, at the pretty ‘Partagat’ spring, above the village of Benifato. Having begun at an elevation of 950 m, you’ll climb to Aitana’s 1558 m summit, the highest point in Costa Blanca. You’ll see a fantastic example of a 'Nevera’; these impressive snow caves were built in the early 18th century and are typically found at high altitude. An exciting short scramble leads to the broad summit of the Aitana, a site also used as a Spanish military base. Along the ridge of the Aitana you are treated to the most awesome panoramic views on the Costa Blanca.
6
Puig Campana
Day 6-7
Standing 1408 m tall, just 7 km from Benidorm’s coast, Puig Campana is one of the most famous landmarks in the whole of Costa Blanca. The walk starts on the mountain’s northern slopes – interestingly known to be slightly cooler than the south - with some excellent views of the surrounding valleys. The reward of reaching the summit make this strenuous walk so worthwhile, as you are presented with spectacular views of the Aitana Mountain to the North and beautiful coastline stretching from Calpe to Alicante toward the South.
