Guided trip
Would you like to know Barcelona and its surroundings from a local's perspective? Hi! I'm Maria, I’m 39 and a journalist by training, an entrepreneur by passion, and a local guide by heart! I have grown up and lived in Barcelona all my life, and I love to show the best places to all those who decide to visit my beautiful city. Barcelona can be enjoyed in many different ways, as it brings together a number of qualities that make it especially attractive. The weather and the beach, the food, the architecture, the history, and the cultural and gastronomic offer are some of them, among many more! What plan would I organize if my friends were to come to Barcelona for a few days of vacation? My idea is to gather a group with a good vibe to enjoy a few relaxing days with a little bit of everything. As a journalist and local guide, I will show and tell you about the origins of the city, and we will go from the oldest streets to the most local neighborhoods outside the tourist circuit. Of course, a visit to Barcelona must also include a visit to one of the most visited monuments in the world, the majestic Sagrada Familia. Likewise, just as we will get to know the city by day, we will also get to know it by night. Barcelona is there to be enjoyed and has a lot of great bars and cocktail bars (the best in the world among them!). So one day we'll also get pretty (or not) to taste what the city has to offer when the sun goes down (neither is it necessary before it appears), and visit some of the places where locals hang out in Barcelona. But that's not all. Apart from treading the asphalt, we will also have time to relax, sunbathe, and even practice a little bit of sport. Our beautiful apartment is just a few steps from the sea, so we can also enjoy the beach, the promenade, and even a paddle surf lesson ;-) And you know what we locals like to do after a day at the beach? Eating a good paella in front of the sea. We'll do that too! And just as we will step on asphalt and the ocean, we will also step on the ground. As you know, wine is part of our culture, and we will have the opportunity to visit some vineyards in the appellation of origin of Alella (DO). It is a beautiful place, with a typical Catalan farmhouse and vineyards of family origin. There they will explain to us the secrets of their wine, and the varieties that exist, and we will also taste a delicious appetizer. As you can see, this is an excellent way to enjoy and learn about Barcelona from a local. Are you going to miss it? To sum up, this trip includes: Accommodation: - Beachfront apartment in the town of El Masnou. At 15 minutes from Barcelona and 600 meters from the train station. - It has a terrace and balcony with sea views and a barbecue. - It has 5 bedrooms, some for private use and others to share. - Two bathrooms. - Fully equipped kitchen. - Wi-Fi and air conditioning are available. - It is also located near an ATM, bars, and supermarkets. - Airport at 34 km. Trip Itinerary

El Masnou

Day 1-5
Welcome to Barcelona, and especially to El Masnou! On the first day, we will all meet at the beach apartment and will settle down. Then we'll prepare a barbecue on the terrace (and some games) to get to know each other better and talk about the following days. A great start to get ready!
2

Barcelona

Day 5
On the second day, we'll learn about Barcelona's history! We will walk through the oldest streets of Born, Gothic, and Raval and visit some of the emblematic places there. Some of them are the famous Ramblas, the Boqueria market, the cathedral of Santa Creu and Santa Eulalia, Plaza del Rey, Plaza de Sant Jaume, and Plaza Real, among many more! We will have lunch in a delicious, typical Catalan restaurant and then head to visit one of the jewels of the city, the Sagrada Familia. After the visit, and as we will be touring the city all day, there is the option to go on your own if you want to visit something else, such as the Sant Pau Modernist Site or Park Güell, or go shopping, etc.
3

El Masnou

Day 5
The third day will be spent enjoying the beach as we do here, away from the crowds of the big city. We will take a paddle-surfing lesson and then recover our strength by eating a good paella at the port (which is what we locals like to do after beaching!). Whoever needs to recover and get some energy for the night, can take a nap or have some rest time until we get back on the road to go and discover Barcelona by night. Once in town, we can have dinner on our own or as a group and explore some of the city's most legendary bars. And who knows, we might end up dancing a little bit or enjoying live music somewhere?
4

Alella

Day 5
The fourth day will be a combination of the two previous days, with an apéritif visit at brunch time to one of the vineyards in the DO Alella area. In the afternoon, we will visit the genuine neighborhood of Gràcia, in Barcelona, off the beaten tourist track. We will also stroll along the Paseo de Gràcia, with free time for shopping and/or visiting other places, such as the Casa Batlló or whatever you prefer. In the evening, we will celebrate the last dinner in our little town with some drinks at a beach bar in front of the sea.
5

El Masnou

Day 5
On the fifth day, it will be time to say goodbye, and each one of us will continue on our way, but I am sure that somehow, as it happens in great travels, something will change us inside and enrich our experience in this life. Are you in? Don't think about it!
