Guided trip
Hello fellow explorers, super excited to share this trip with this awesome community I just newly discovered!! About me: My name is Chiara, I am 26, I currently live/work in Frankfurt and I have been dreaming of South America for too long. I am in the process of switching jobs hence i have some time to spare for one of the activities that i enjoy the most: travelling. I have already experienced travelling with companions met online (South East Asia and Morocco) and all went super well. About the trip: My plan is to spend 1 month backpacking Brasil from South to North. I will already be in Buenos Aires at the time of departure hence we will meet there, after visiting the Argentinian capital we head north to start our Brazilian adventure. I will come back to Europe from Fortaleza on the 26th of July but you're free to continue the journey even after that :) If you want to know the highlights of our trip, check detailed itinerary below. What is included? - accommodation: it will be cheap and simple (small hotels or local hotels, i.e. pousadas, we'll share the rooms with the people in the group - nevertheless a single room can be arranged, but price would differ). - transportation: we will use a mix of buses/ferries and flights to speed up some legs of the trip (Brazil is a super huge country!). - some entrance fees/tours: iguazu entrances both from Argentinian and Brazilian side + 2 days of guided tours what is not included: - food (we'll always look for the cheap and tasty option!) - other tours we will possibly take to explore some areas (e.g. Amazonian rainforest, Lencois Maranhenses) - flights from/to your home country - personal expenses I am passionate about creating custom-made itineraries, and I will provide all the necessary/detailed info well prior to departure. General remarks: I love nature, food and culture and I would like to discover all that Brazil has to offer with like-minded people! I am an experienced traveler but this would be my first time in South America so good collaboration will be key for success. The itinerary I am proposing is flexible. I am not interested in compensation, the price of the trip is my best estimate for travelling/accomodation and some activities cost. The trip takes place if at least 1 other TripMate joins me. If you are interested, write me a message so that we can introduce ourselves and I can answer all your possible questions

Buenos Aires

Day 1-4
Hello fellow adventurers! We will meet directly in Buenos Aires on the evening of the 25th of June 2022, we go to dinner so that we can get to know each other better before starting the trip. In the following days we will explore this historical city, who's up for a tango lesson?. On our last day we catch a flight towards Iguazu Falls.
2

Iguazu Falls

Day 4-6
On the first day we visit the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls while on the second day we will explore the Brasilian side. We can also arrange a boat tour (optional) if you are not afraid to be soaked afterwards! Last evening we catch a flight towards Sao Paulo and from there a bus to Paraty.
3

Paraty

Day 6-8
Welcome to the UNESCO heritage destination of Paraty. In Paraty we explore the colonial city and we breathe in the true Brazilian vibe before heading over to Ilha Grande by bus + ferry to eventually enjoy some beach time.
4

Ilha Grande

Day 8-10
We take bus + ferry from Paraty to Ilha Grande and we start exploring this green jewel. We will relax on the beach and explore the island (natural pools, boat tour, Lagoa verde, Lagoa Azul, Acaia cave, Praia Preta, Lopes Mendes Beach).

Rio de Janeiro

Day 10-14
We take again the ferry and then a bus to Rio de Janeiro. This amazing city is waiting for us! We will visit the most famous attractions (Pão de Açùcar, Copacabana, Santa Teresa, Lapa, Corcovado, Ipanema, Pedra do Telègrafo).

Salvador

Day 14-17
We fly to Salvador De Bahia to enjoy this vibrant and colourful city. We will also spare some time to explore the surroundings (for example, we can try to fit in a day trip to the natural park Chapada Diamantina).
7

Manaus

Day 17-24
No trip to Brazil is complete without Amazon! We fly over to Manaus from Salvador and take a few day tours into the Amazon forest (many possible tours available here). Then we have 2 options: catch a flight from Manaus to Sao Luiz OR catch the local boat from Manaus to Belem (4 days of navigation), this latter could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience! After reaching Sao Luis we start our Maranhao tour.
8

Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses

Day 24-31
From Sao Luis we embark on an itinerary in the Maranhao region touching some magical stops along the way (Sao Luis, Lençóis Maranhenses, Barreirinhas, Parnaiba, Jericoara, Fortaleza). We eventually arrive in Fortaleza where I will take my return flight back to Europe on the 26th of July.
