Helsinki Airport
Day 1
Let’s go to the region of a thousand lakes, starting from Helsinki Airport or from the city center by rental car. We will be stopping for lunch and several coffees, during our 4 hours driving trip to the center of Finland. At Leppävirta we share and stay in a comfortable 6-person lakeside cottage equipped with all kinds of amenities (fully furnished kitchen, sauna, barbeque, rowing boat, etc.), we will go on excursions along the areas. A summer of sensations, combining activities, excursions, crazy gastronomy, and living like a local in an authentic Finnish cottage, next to a private beach. Slow travel, gastronomy, sports, and living inside the real Finnish people and environment WELCOME TO MY SPECIAL EXCURSION TO THE REGION OF A THOUSAND LAKES! You find many trips to Finland, but all packed and you are looking for a more intimate contact with nature! Finland is my home territory and I know it quite well. This trip, which I have already done many times, is spectacular: its landscapes, its people, the adventure, its stillness, and the possibilities it offers for rest… The “Thousand Lakes” region is located in central Finland, 400km northeast of Helsinki, the capital. The area is full of traditional huts or «mökki» used by the Finns for their annual reconnection with nature and to enjoy their free time on vacation. The destination that I offer you is unique! We will stay on an old farm on the shores of the lake owned by a great hostess who is an expert in local customs.

Day 1-6
During our days in the cottage, we will always be active. Pirjo, the hostess, is an expert in local gastronomy, mushrooms, and forest fruits as well as in traditional cuisine in the #kota. Not far from the cabin, trekking through the Orinoro Gorges, is a vestige of the ice age that we can see even in the middle of summer. Below you will find the day by day itinerary, but it is not all, because I want you to be aware that in Finland you are on a real trip. We will adapt the itinerary as the trip unfolds. I propose that you travel and live day by day, because the moment is now. Enjoy! Day 2 – Cottagelife, trying kayaks, having shopping for breakfast, etc., and of course heat our sauna & swim at our private lake Day 3 – Kayaking at the Sorsavesi depends on the weather conditions lets make a few hours of kayaking at the Archipelago of the zone. During this, I will present several skills on how to orientate, etc.

Kuopio
Day 6
Day 4 – Let's visiting at Kuopio city Today we will visit Kuopio. We are, quite simply, on the upper edge of the world here. During a traditional fish soup lunch, visit the local market, visit Puijo Tower and do small sightseeing at the city center, and shopping also. LET'S GO TO KUOPIO: Kuopio surprises us with its liveliness, quality of services, and good atmosphere. It boasts a plethora of museums, bars, restaurants, quality hotels, and almost endless sports activities both in winter, spring, and summer. Kuopio is situated on part of a large peninsula within Lake Kallavesi and extends over some adjacent islands. On one of those islands, Korkeasaari, located south of the center, the Saaristokaupunki neighborhood has emerged: a prime example of new Finnish urbanism. “The hub of the world” This is what the Kuopians call their city ironically! Kuopio is the capital of the Savo area with its funny Finnish accent. Locals are proud of their central square or #tori, the largest square in Finland. In case you haven't noticed, Kuopio is my hometown.

Day 5 – Orinoro hiking and paddling at Sorsavesi Experience Authentic Local Life on Day 5 of Your Trip: Hike and Paddle in Orinoro and Explore the Charming City of Leppävirta. Don't Miss the Nordic Ski Center, Canal Locks, and Tugboats Transporting Logs. With Time to Spare, Enjoy Trekking, Sauna, Swimming, Fishing, and Cooking in Kota. No Need to Go Anywhere, It's All Here.

Day 6
Day 6 – Savonlinna: Explore Savonlinna, the City of Opera, on Day 6 of Your Trip! Enjoy Cruising Around the Village and Visiting Olavinlinna Castle, Home to Endangered Freshwater Seals. Take a Dip in the Lake and Sauna Before Dinner. Don't Miss Excursions to Saimaa and Kuopio, Where You'll Discover Beautiful Castles, Local Delicacies, and Incredible Views of the Natural Park from Puijon-Torni Tower!

Helsinki
Day 6-7
Day 7 – Helsinki by night: We will overnight at one hotel in the middle of Helsinki city center and enjoy our last night and of cause our last evening's dinner somewhere, which we can decide later. Nice walk around the city or pass through some terraces.

Helsinki Airport
Day 7
There are no activities planned today, so you are free to explore the city and depart at your leisure. Your local guide Harri will help arrange your included departure transfer to the airport. For those who have a later flight, I'm happy to show more of the city center. My flight is late, back to Spain, Malaga. Safe journey!
