Please note that this is a guided trip in the way that it will be planned and I would will be with you to take care of most things, but I am not an actual guide, I don't have knowledge for archeological sites or things like that. I'm very open-minded and like to have fun! So I am looking for like-minded TripMates. This trip is for girls only, nothing against guys 😉, but as a solo female traveller I just want to promote solo female travelling and make them feel safe! We will be exploring Athens and its archeological sites while also trying Greek food and other nice spots, we also have a special day trip to Delphi and Arachova, and a railbiking activity. The center is very walkable so be prepared to walk, no special level of fitness required, however you should be able to walk, be out all day for some days and pedal for the railbiking. I hope I can show you what Greece is like and maybe teach you a few words! Accomodation: 150€ per person (approximate) Day trip: 46€ per person Railbiking: 40€ per person Transporation card: 8,20€ per person Athens archeological sites: 41€ per person Entrance to the archeological sites in Athens will be with an app with self-guided audio (not as detailed as a guide, but it will be completely free) which you will need a smartphone and earphones for but no internet connection, if you wish to get a guide that is at your own expanse. About me: I'm Katerina, but you can call me Kat! I'm 26 and Greek. I would love to show you around our capital and its surroundings. I don't live in Athens so some of the things I will be discovering with you, while I will be able to explain to you our traditions and foods. I'm impatient to help you discover Greek culture and have experiences that are also new for me with you! I am a massive foodie, so I will have many recommendations on where to eat for many types of cuisines, while knowing what Greek staples you should also try!
Accommodation: Depending on the number of people we will stay in hostels or in a shared apartment, everyone will have there own bed but not necessarily their own room. THE APARTMENT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGES The accommodation will have wifi and will be close to a metro station, and will be in or not too far from the city centre

Trip Itinerary

Athens
Day 1-2
The first day is the arrival day, so nothing is planned, depending on what time everybody arrives we can go for a walk, dinner and maybe a drink at a rooftop bar with a view of the Acropolis to get to know each other and discuss our plans for the following days but keep in mind what we have an EARLY day tomorrow!

Megara
Day 2
We will be getting up early as our railbiking activity will be at 09:00 and is more than an hour away (we will decide closer to the trip, but we will probably leave round 07:00). The activity will last for 3 hours where we will be railbiking, a fun and original experience, with a view. Note: the picture is a stock image of a railbike, it is not indicative of what you will see there.

Athens
Day 2-3
After our activity, we will be going back to Athens for lunch and a chill afternoon. We will walk around Monastiraki, Plaka and Ermou which is Athens shopping street. We can try Greek coffees and desserts and go for dinner later on depending on everyone's wants. Keep in mind what, we have an EARLY and BIG day tomorrow!

Delphi
Day 3
Today we will wake up early (we leave around 6:30 but it may later depending on where we will be stasying) as we have to meet our bus before 08:00 for our day trip in Chalandri which is almost an hour away. The day trip will be to the archeological site of Delphi and to Arachova with a coach with Wifi on board. On our way we will have a coffee break (coffee not included) as the drive will be 2h50. Our first stop will be Delphi (2h30), the entrance fee is included, however a guide isn't, but you can use a free audio self-guide app.

Arachova
Day 3
After Delphi, we will head on to the beautiful Arachova first for a lunch break (lunch not included), then we will have free time in Arachova (50mins.). Arachova is a very popular winter destination even for locals.

Athens
Day 3-4
After our last stop we will finally head back (2h drive) to Athens. If we still have some energy left in us, we can go to dinner if everyone agrees, otherwise we will probably go to bed early. We won't have such an early morning the next day.

Ancient Agora of Athens
Day 4
We will start by going for some loukoumades for breakfast depending on the time we leave. We will visit Athens' archeological sites however the guide isn't included but there is a free self-guide audio app that will enable us to learn more about the ruins. You will see the ones that we will definitely go to, however if we have time we may go to more. Our first stop is the ancient agora (or old market).

Acropolis
Day 4
After the agora, we will head on to the Acropolis and see the different ruins in it, like the Parthenon. Note that there is no specific time for our entrance, so whenever we get hungry we can stop between 2 locations and grab something to eat or just take a break.

Panathenaic Stadium
Day 4
After the Acropolis, our next stop will be the Panathenaic stadium or Kallimarmaro, again we won't have a guide here. This is a really popular location, it is a multipurpose stadium known all throughout Greece.

Athens
Day 4-5
After all the archeological sites we can have a nice dinner and a rooftop drink with the view of the Acropolis if we don't end up going on the first night. If we finish the sites early we can have free time, go for a coffee or something sweet maybe.

Athens
Day 5
Today is our last day, so it will be a more relaxed day with time for shopping, eating whether is it some more Greek food or something else. We can go to brunch together. If we still haven't (although I doubt it) we will try Gyros, kebabs at the renown Thanasis and some loukoumades. Then we will have our last dinner together, maybe a drink or a dessert and we might even play some games. Depending on what time everyone leaves the day after, we might see each other in the morning too!

Day 5
This is departure day, depending on everyone departure time some of may go for a coffee or breakfast, or even some shopping together before we part ways with hope that we will meet again for another adventure!
