Guided trip
Namaste! 🙏🏼 I am Shireen from India. 🙂 A psychologist by qualification and a curious explorer by heart. 😊 India is a huge country with so much to offer. 🥘 One of the oldest civilizations in the world, India is a mosaic of multicultural experiences. With a rich heritage and myriad attractions, the country is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world! ⛩️ This trip has been meticulously planned to give you a taste of ancient India with modernity, culture and heritage with beachy vibes, Tamil cuisine with French gourmet, wondrous exploration with relaxing therapies! Basically, this trip has it all! 😍 We start our trip with Mahabalipuram which is home to numerous architectural marvels and a UNESCO World Heritage Site! 😲 Yes, you heard that right, from a collection of 7th and 8th-century Hindu religious monuments to ruins of age-old shrines, the places to visit in Mahabalipuram will fill you with an absolute sense of pleasure. An archaeologist's delight, this shore town boasts of a large number of ornate stone carvings made out of uncut rocks. 🗿 After exploring ancient ruins at Mahabalipuram, we journey towards the French capital of India, Pondicherry! 🥐 It is just a 2-hour drive along the picturesque East Coast Road, which means, you get a full view of the sea during this short journey as well! ECR is believed to be the most scenic coastal highway in India with views of the Bay of Bengal. 🌊 We spend some time in Pondicherry exploring the unique French world meeting the sea life. 🥖 The quietude of the beautiful alleys and bustling boulevards, amalgamation of Tamil and French cuisines and architecture, the jaunty crowd, all make Pondicherry a compelling place to visit in India. The Union Territory of Pondicherry blessed with picturesque coastline is indeed a destination for beach lovers where they can enjoy. The best part is that this place can be explored on rented bikes/scooters. 🏖️ If you can still believe it, the best part of this trip is yet to come. 🤩 The last spot of our wholesome trip is going to be the experimental township of Auroville which is near Pondicherry. The concept of Auroville – an ideal township devoted to an experiment in human unity. 😇 One may not be able to grasp the concept of this place by briefly reading about it but in short, the purpose of Auroville is to realise human unity – in diversity. ☮️ Today, Auroville is recognised as the first and only internationally endorsed ongoing experiment in human unity and transformation of consciousness, also concerned with – and practically researching into – sustainable living and the future cultural, environmental, social and spiritual needs of mankind.🕊️ As you can probably guess it yourself, Auroville has A LOT to offer and to experience its best, we shall be staying there! 🥳 It feels like living in close contact with nature and doing various activities that help one connect with their spiritual self (which is of course an understatement)! 🍀 In conclusion, you are perfect for this trip if: ✅ You are open-minded and look forward to spending quality time with people from various backgrounds and walks of life. 🌍 ✅You have an interest in exploring ancient heritage sites. ⛪ ✅You have an inclination towards nature and spirituality. 🌺 ✅You love beaches! 🐚 What the trip cost covers: 🔹Accommodation at all three trip spots (Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry, Auroville) Private rooms also available on request. 🔹All basic transportation as a group (rented vehicles and transportation to Pondicherry) 🔹Entry tickets to various places we shall explore 🔹Trip Leader fee SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Mahabalipuram

Day 1-4
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this shore town has a collection of 7th- and 8th-century Hindu religious monuments. Some of them are: Descent of the Ganges or Arjuna's Penance – a giant open-air rock relief, Pancha Rathas (Five Chariots) – five monolithic pyramidal structures named after the Pandavas and carved from one single separate large piece of stone, Cave Temples – over ten rock-cut temples dating back to the 7th century, The Shore Temple – a structural temple along the Bay of Bengal with the entrance from the western side away from the sea and various other structural temples including the Olakkanesvara temple, along with rock-cut features such as the Draupadi's tank and Krishna's butterball. Apart from the historical sites and structures, Mahabalipuram boasts of other places of interest that includes lighthouses, pristine beaches, temples and even museums. It would seem you are almost inside an open museum. As a beach destination, it goes without saying that Mahabalipuram is definitely one of its kind.

Puducherry

Day 4-6
There is absolutely no doubt that Pondicherry is extremely pleasing to the eyes! Your gallery is going to be filled with too many beautiful pictures after this trip. ;) Pondicherry was the largest French colony in India until 1954, when French rule ended. However, their legacy lives on in the French Quarter where the architecture, food and language have all been preserved. The silhouette of Pondicherry comprises the famed French Town or White Town, spectacular churches, temples, and statues with an additional charm of the sea and that of the swaying palm and coconut trees. One can expect to relish potpourri of Tamil and French culture in this is beautiful union territory. Seaside Pondicherry, with its pervasive French heritage, is a place that's best leisurely experienced. Stroll through the streets of the French Quarter and along the Promenade, sit in the cafes, browse through the boutiques, and soak up the ambiance, there is so much to do and explore here!

Auroville

Day 6-9
"Auroville wants to be a universal town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive harmony, above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities. The purpose of Auroville is to realize human unity." — Mirra Alfassa Auroville is an experimental township in Viluppuram district, mostly in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, with some parts in the Union Territory of Pondicherry in India. It was founded in 1968 by Mirra Alfassa (known as "the Mother") and designed by architect Roger Anger. Alfassa was the spiritual collaborator of Sri Aurobindo, who believed that "man is a transitional being". Alfassa expected that this experimental "universal township" would contribute significantly to the "progress of humanity towards its splendid future by bringing together people of goodwill and aspiration for a better world". At present, Auroville is a growing community of over 3000 people from 58 nations. The landscape is now a lush green forest and the total planned area of the township is approx 20 sq. kms. Auroville offers various introduction tours, has boutiques for Auroville products and handicrafts, bookshops, cafes, food court. People can volunteer, attend events, workshops and participate in cultural activities inside the township. Auroville also offers various therapies. Basically, one makes their Auroville experience what they want it to be and we will experience it first hand by living there! This is the only place of its kind, the real life burning man!
