Bangkok

Day 1-5
Welcome to Bangkok! Get ready to embark on the journey of a lifetime! Bangkok may best be known for its chaotic cityscape, but the jaw-dropping temples, floating markets, and street vendors are what bring this city to life. After we all meet up at the hotel and get to know each other, expect to explore wats such as Wat Phra Chetuphon and Wat Arun, take a cruise along the Chao Phraya river, and indulge in Khao San Road in our three full days in Bangkok. There will also be the option to take part in optional experiences such as a tour of the floating markets and a nighttime street food tour. After we get a taste of the big city life, we will board an overnight train to the much more calm (and very beautiful) city of Chiang Mai.
2

Chiang Mai

Day 5-9
Wake up bright and early after a (hopefully) good nights sleep from the gentle rocking of the overnight train and get ready to explore Chiang Mai - a lush oasis that many believe to be the best destination in Thailand. We will explore the various wats, shops full of handmade items, and eat great food. We will also visit the areas two main attractions: Doi Inthanon National Park and Doi Suthep.
3

Huay Xai

Day 9-10
After enjoying the beautiful and laid-back city of Chiang Mai, we will begin our journey to Luang Prabang. We will cross the Thai/Laos border and take the Friendship Bridge to the small, quiet town of Huay Xai. While there is not a lot to do here, we will be able to purchase our tickets for the slow boat and enjoy a meal before getting ready for an early morning tomorrow!
4

Pak Beng

Day 10-11
Get ready for our first day on the slow boat! We will wake up bright and early and head down to the dock in order to secure seats towards the front of the boat for today. We can then grab snacks and drinks before enjoying the 6-7 hour slow boat ride that meanders along the Thai/Laos border to the small town of Pak Beng - the roughly halfway point between Huay Xai and Luang Prabang. Here, we will enjoy a relaxing evening before yet another early day.
5

Luang Prabang

Day 11-14
A UNESCO World Heritage site, Luang Prabang is the cultural jewel of Laos. We will explore the many temples and small streets filled with vendors that come alive at night. We will also have time to watch the sun rise from Mount Phousi and explore the Pak Ou Caves - a beautiful and sacred site with views of the Mekong River. If you’re looking to continue your adventure to Vang Vieng and Siem Reap, consider my three-week journey!
