For Iceland newbies and repeaters 🤩 .... my name is Maria and I am looking for adventurers who love the wild and rough, and untouched nature! Let's explore Iceland off the beaten path together - the Land of Ice and Fire and mysterious sagas🌠! The year 2026 marks a very special event in the world: A total solar eclipse will occur and will be visible right above west of Iceland 🌒. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT I have been to Iceland so many times now I stopped counting. And I think I can say I am almost a local (except for the very difficult language :-D). On JMT, I travelled to Iceland on a trip in September 2023 and again with a group in November 2024 - it is one of my favourite places on earth! We will unveil some of the coolest places of the less explored fjords of west Iceland! Our road trip takes us to places Instagram-able and loved by all photographers and photo amateurs. Little can go wrong when you travel in Iceland! Our group will consist of minimum 4 mates including myself🙂 - and a maximum group of 9 (if we find that many). Along the way and the solar eclipse spectacle, there are unique sights, tours and lagoon visits planned. We will cover all the stops as seen on the map below and might go some extra mile to see more. I plan to reserve a bigger van or two cars (depending on how many come along).
👋👩🏻🦰 WHAT MAKES THIS TRIP SO SPECIAL AND WHY JOIN ME Iceland is one of my most favourite countries to travel so far: The crystal ice, the rough stone formations of the highlands, the whistling winds in the mountains, and the beauty of the greenish-golden grass😍. Iceland changes with every day and every season. But what makes joining me so special? And why come along? Because I have many years of experience as a professional travel specialist for China and travelled to more than 43 countries on holidays so far. I love to meticulously plan my trips and make sure that we make the most of our limited time while on a trip. My previous trip mates` reviews speak for themselves. I can guarantee you that you will not regret. Simply join and enjoy 🥰! Besides, I have taken care of all the planning and organization, so that you have a good and relaxed time while exploring this beautiful nordic island country together!
🏛️OCCUPANCY We spend our nights in either guesthouses or cabins along the way, in Reykjavik it might be a hostel depending on the number of people joining. Furthermore, we will sleep in twin-bed rooms (shared by trip mates from our group) regardless of the accommodation type. There will be no dorms. Some accommodations will have breakfast included. I always try to make everyone feel comfortable, which is my highest priority. So I will do my best to have the accommodation set as early as possible and if you sign up early, it will help me a lot in calculating what is within our financial means :) Please let me know if you would like to request a single room and I will see what can be arranged. ✔️ Physical rating of the trip: 3/5 (some hikes planned, but most of them are simple to moderate and doable for even a normally fit "office person") ✔️ Group size: 4 - 9 with myself ✔️ Non-smokers only If you want to ask anything, feel free to message me in the Q&A below. Because spots are limited (especially in the rental car), it's quick and easy to reserve your spot: Click the green button on the right 🟩 and join me on this new holiday adventure! 😍

Trip Itinerary
1
Reykjavík
Day 1
Day 1: Arrival & drive to Snæfellsnes volcanic peninsula (~ 3 hours) Welcome to Iceland - the land of ice and fire! Depending on the time of your arrival at KEF (Keflavik International Airport), we can either meet straight away afrer arrival or I pick you up along the route in Reykjavik. If you haven`t been to Reykjavik and Iceland, I suggest you arrive a bit earlier and do some city sightseeing (for that reason this trip starts on a Monday so those who wish, have the opportunity to extend and stay in the capital city an extra couple of days).
2
Snæfellsnes
Day 1-2
Once everyone is at the airport and ready and set, we meet & greet and embark on a journey to the enchanting Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often called "Iceland in Miniature" for its diverse landscapes. While heading northwest along scenic routes towards the iconic Kirkjufell mountain (see photo), a picturesque landmark featured in Game of Thrones and other movies, the sun will start to set. The nearby cascading Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall creates a perfect photo opportunity and a great spot for a short break. In the late evening before dark, we shall arrive at our guesthouse for the night. INCLUDED ✅ Car rental and transfer ✅ 1 night en-route in Snæfellsnes EXCLUDED ❌ Petrol
3
Ferry Baldur
Day 2
Day 2: Drive to Látrabjarg (~ 6 hours) In the morning, we have a beautiful opportunity to experience sunrise with the stunning beauty of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The highlight of today`s morning is a guided whale watching excursion. Nowhere else in Iceland is there a better chance to see two of the ocean’s top predators, sperm whales and orcas, than along the Snæfellsnes Peninsula coastline. After that we continue our road trip on a scenic road to a small ferry jetty, where we board a ferry, crossing the picturesque Breiðafjörður Bay. The journey takes about 3 hours and we can marvel at the breathtaking views of small islands dotting the water and watch for seabirds soaring. Once we reached the other side, we make our way along the meandering coastline to our next destination. INCLUDED ✅ Guided Whale Watching Tour ✅ Puffin Watching ✅ Ferry crossing

Látrabjarg
Day 2-4
Day 3 & 4: TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE in Látrabjarg In the afternoon we reach our accommodation close to Látrabjarg. The evening is free for everyone to spend time on their own or simply relax and explore the area. The hidden reddish-sand beach Beach Rauðisandur is a gem in Iceland and not many people find their way here. And if you can`t wait until tomorrow, you can visit it today evening as well. Day 3 is the day of the total solar eclipse, which will pass right over the west coast of Iceland above our heads in Látrabjarg, so we will be in the "centre" of it. You will be provided special solar eclipse glasses and we grab some drinks and celebrate this event together on the rugged clifftop with its panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. INCLUDED ✅ Watching the total solar eclipse together incl. solar eclipse glasses ✅ 2 nights en-route ✅ Chill-out by the most beautiful golden "red sand beach" of Iceland ✅ Puffin Watching
5
Ísafjörður
Day 4-6
Day 4 & 5: Drive to Ísafjörður (~ 3 hours) In the afternoon of day 4 will reach our next accommodation close to Ísafjörður in the hilly and beutifully remote area of Iceland. The next day will be a mix of planned activities and time for personal hikes or kayaking trips. The morning is free for the group to explore the lush northernmost fjords of Iceland or take a boat ride to the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve (200-300€). It is a breathtaking wilderness area located at the northernmost point of Iceland's Westfjords and established in 1975. The area is renowned for its pristine nature and diverse wildlife such as the cute puffins. Hornstrandir is also home to Iceland's only native mammal, the Arctic fox, which thrives in this protected environment. For those who do not wish to participate in the trip to the nature reserve, tomorrow we will have another opportunity to meet the Arctic fox in captivity at the Arctic Fox Centre. INCLUDED ✅ 2 nights en-route ✅ Arctic Fox Centre OPTIONAL ❌Kayaking in Ísafjörður ❌Boat trip to Hornstrandir Nature Reserve
6
Drangsnes
Day 6-7
Day 6: Drive to Drangsnes (~ 3 hours) Once we pack and enjoyed our breakfast, we will have about another 3 hours of road to hit before we reach a less known but super cool Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft in a small village for a lunch break. Those who are interesting can explore the exhibition and the others just chill outside and have a meal meanwhile. After that we have about another 15-minutes drive to our accommodation. We can spend the evening enjoying the open Drangsnes hot spring pools that are located right by the sea and exposed to the hash weathers of northern Iceland. It is an amazing experience to relax in the warm water while outside the air is getting milder and the day comes to an end. Day 7: Drive to Keflavik (~5 hours) & Blue Lagoon (optional) After a cozy late breakfast we set off on the journey back from Drangsnes to Keflavik, with a rejuvenating optional stop at the world-renowned Blue Lagoon. This day tour begins with a scenic drive through Iceland’s stunning landscapes, where you’ll witness dramatic coastlines and rugged terrain one more time. Upon arrival at the Blue Lagoon in the late afternoon, we decide whether we want to stop there and spend several hours immersing ourselves in the geothermal waters before we head to our accommodation for the last night. INCLUDED ✅ 1 night en-route close to Drangsnes ✅ Drangsnes hot spring pool OPTIONAL ❌ Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft (~10 € entry)
7
Keflavík International Airport
Day 7-8
Day 8: Departure Every amazing journey comes to an end and so we say farewell to our newly found travel buddies! As most budget airlines fly out or Keflavik early morning, our accommodation is offering early breakfast accordingly. So you can fuel up yourself before taking your flight back home. Hope to see you soon in Iceland! 👋🙂 INCLUDED ✅ 1 night in Keflavik (in 2-bed room with shared facilities) OPTIONAL ❌Evening in the Blue Lagoon (appr. 70-90€ incl. transfer from Reykjavik) We can decide in the group, if we want to go.
